View Full Version : Scope recommended for .223 Wylde 20”
I’m on the fence on a 3x12 FFP or a 3x15FFP.
I have an opportunity to get a 3x12 at a huge price break. Just don’t want to settle if it won’t get the job done. I’m in my 40’s and my eyes aren’t perfect anymore
How far will you be shooting?
I would be interested in knowing your scope mount options as well
If the 3-12 is much cheaper, buy it. hard to notice that extra mag.

I run a 4-16 FFP on my “precision” 5.56. I doubt you’ll notice much difference between the 3-12 vs 3-15- if the 12x is that much cheaper I’d buy it if the reticle suited me.

500-600 yds tops for this rifle.
The 6.5 Creedmoor is a whole different mess

I got one of the Geissle mounts

What brand scopes are we discussing? Is there a big quality gap, same brand?
Also what type of shooting and distances

I was happy with a fixed 10x out to 1000 when I started. 3-12x is plenty.
I ended up picking up a Bushnell Elite Tactical LRTS 3-12 44mm G3 reticle. Seems like it will take care of things nicely

Did you get the illuminated version? I hear the non-illuminated (fed) version has finer crosshairs, but the illumination helps at low power on the black model.
Looking at this exact scope for my new rifle.

If it was an 18', I would say get a 1-8 with BDC for 77gr.
