Cautiously optimistic about this but it has Paul Rudd, is directed by the original directors son, has the Stranger things kid, and when they said “Gunner’s Seat” I felt some kind of way.

Plus they are implied to be Egon’s grandkids.

Please be good

Trailer looks good.

Gunner’s Seat!!

The fake GB had ugly women who looked like cleaning ladies. This captures the essence that everything was cobbled from like military surplus and was for killing ghosts.

I kinda like the Stranger Things boy and the girl looks like Egon.

Part of me hopes this will be like The Lost Boys but with Ghostbusters kit. Like Lost Boys was funny but also far out.

I feel like 10 yo me would be hype AF for this.

As an aside, for a kid born in the 00s, the 80s have been good to the Stranger Things boy.

Here's to hoping it doesn't flop like the remake they did a couple of years ago.

Here's to hoping director Jason Reitman took really good lessons from his dad directing the originals.

Man it’s like they know some of us Gen X’s are having kids late in life and want to share the movies of our formative years with our kids instead of the awful tripe fed to Millenials.

It will be a few years before my son will probably be able to watch this one or the original first 2, but in time.

They better not screw it up.

From the trailer its almost as if the all female movie never took place and this is what the actual sequel should of been.

What female movie? I don’t recall a Female Movie. It never happened.

It’d be badass if the surviving people whipped their fatasses into shape and came for one last outing and let the young kids take over.

I mean, a semi dilapidated Ecto 1 with a Gunners Seat is better than that pimpmobile they had in that hour and a half long SNL skit.

And like they build more hardcore proton packs that look like blasters and they use assault rifles on the hell hounds. And they blast new wave or hair metal during the last showdown.

I want Bill Murray to be like William Munny. Old and bitter but kinda smartass still, Dan Aykroyd to be like an obsessed madman, and Ernie Hudson to be grizzled and harsh.

I also demand Chappy from Iron Eagle to show up. I also wanna see what happens if you shoot a regular person with a proton pack.

Is Lou Gossett Jr. even still alive? But yeah, I too would like to see the surviving Old Guard return to pass the torch, then be supporting cast in future sequels. (Better yet, the kids get in over their heads and the OG's show them how to Kick Ass Like An Old Warhorse.) Maybe, since Moranis won't come back to Hollywood, see if he'd be game for just a couple days' to a week's work at a studio near him, fly Annie Potts and a crew up there and shoot his scenes Second Unit so he can stay close to his kids.

The original surviving cast have signed on, relax man. Gonna be good.

Between this and the Mandalorian and some of the Marvel movies,
It appears there are some Gen X writers, directors, and producers that understand and get what makes a show or movie good.
And, frankly, turn your nose up at him if you will, but 80s movies live on in spirit with Michael Bay.

Stranger Things gave me hope for Millenials.

Ant Man saved Endgame from being boring.

Honestly, I hated Captain Marvel but I like to think Her and Peter Parker hooked up after the battle. Like if you ever saw Police Academy with Callahan, you know what I mean.

Like I watched some comedies I wouldn’t watch just because of Paul Rudd. He’s amusing without being a dumbass. Mostly.

Paul Rudd also had a Super Nintendo so.... respect.

Ant Man coulda stopped the whole Infinity War with a little more creative thinking by Cap: "Yo, Antdude! Get tiny, then crawl up the big dude's snotlocker and make him go Splodeyhead!"

I was well and truly disappointed by Endgame. Watched it yesterday and found myself just skipping along through it....meh.

Yeah it was lame. Turbo lame. 3 hours I won’t get back.

That said the only highlights to me were (surprisingly)

-Captain Marvel. Her movie was dumb but her short hair was on point and Brie Larson could get it.

-Gwyneth Paltrow in Iron Man armor

-Ant Man

But nothing else stood out. The time travel was dumb. The motivation was dumb. Chris Evans was annoying. Alchie Thor was sad. Tony Stark was just phoning it in. Thanos no longer seemed like a threat. Hawkeye went from okay to wtf. Long winded, boring, and it was endless.

Basically I’ll never watch another superhero movie again.

Lost all interest after seeing the trailer, was hoping for Venkman, Stantz, Zedemore, maaaaybe Louis Tully plus Paul Rudd to bust some ghosts, but instead I'm guessing we'll get cameos at best and another movie where kids inherit the story, know nothing about what's going on and somehow save the day so they can gauge the value of a reboot.

I will watch it but I am not that optimistic about a movie with a bunch of kids as the main characters being the heroes.

Younger actors means they can drag the story out longer with less chance of them dieing off.

Or they go a smart way. They see the kids tearassing through BFE Upstate NY on the news with unlicensed nuclear accelerators and the Ecto 1 and realize they gotta step in and keep them from blowing themselves up.

I hope that’s what happens and Paul Rudd acts as the fanboy go-between.

Actually even if somewhat small scale, it’s not a bad concept.
A buncha kids find your dead buddy’s old Ghostmurdering gats. They are OBVIOUSLY unlicensed, if they weren’t banned by the ATF in 84 they damn sure are now, and like there are ghosts.

Besides what about Monster Squad or Lost Boys? At this point, they can’t really lose too much.

I mean....they are talking about Gunners Seats.

Was Peter Parker the one that convinced her to go all butch with her haircut?

Some women can rock the short hair, Brie Larson isn't one of them.

Saw the movie last night. It was really good. It's a continuation of the original storylines.

If you go see it, there are two after credit scenes.

My one quibble is that they gave the Wokesters a win by letting their killing off the Ugly Little Spud stand. (Unless Jason Reitman makes another and brings Slimer back to play, and is saving him for that... he was a good mascot, and assistant when Tully suited up to be reinforcements in GBII.) Other than that, from what I've seen looks like a nice job of passing the torch between generations and threading the needle to draw new fans without antagonizing the old.

I thought it was pretty good as well. It could work as one and done or intro to more movies. They left it pretty open.

There's an obvious sequel hook in one of the postcreds, but I won't spoil it--you'll have to pay close attention.
