Sheriff Jenkins of Culpeper County, Virginia has become the posterchild for sheriffs of sanctuary counties everywhere.

Meaning he's also now the target of a coordinated attack. NBC is attacking his administration by alleging campaign finance misdeeds, and the Small Business in Transportation Coalition is releasing highly inflammatory statements directed at Culpeper County, stating that they will attempt to cut off supplies from the "war zone" if this thing goes hot.

This is a statement made by James Lamb, president of the Small Business in Transportation Coalition.

"We are very concerned that the current gun control versus gun rights controversy may quickly escalate into armed conflict reminiscent of the Civil War as the Democrat Governor threatens to send in the National Guard to enforce new Democrat-pushed gun laws and county governments are declaring their municipalities as 'Second Amendment Sanctuaries,'" Lamb stated. "Most concerning is the possible showdown in Culpeper, Virginia, in which the Sheriff is gearing up for armed conflict by preparing to 'deputize' residents to form a 'militia' to thwart the state's enforcement of new laws slated for January 2020," he added. Lamb says his trade group will be monitoring this situation and the result may be a warning for truckers to steer clear of the "war zone." If a large scale conflict ensues, Lamb says he is concerned about typical war time tactics of disrupting the other side's supply chain and his group will be warning through its 25,000 member "Trucker Lives Matter" Facebook group and other social media to avoid delivering to the state to protect truckers' lives.

Lamb fears the conflict in the one county in Virginia could escalate and spiral out of control.

Obviously this is going to stir up dissent in Culpeper against Sheriff Jenkins. For all we know, his inbox is already being flooded with hate mail from angry moms. And it could also sway the city council in Culpeper, as well as the county government, to withdraw their support. Other groups in Culpeper, like the school board and chamber of commerce, will also likely take notice and react negatively.

Which is of course most likely the whole point!

So please take a moment to contact him and let him know how much you care. If he blinks, the entire movement might fall apart before lobby day. It's beyond any doubt now that all the other sheriffs and counties in Virginia are looking to him. If he backs down, the effect could be catastrophically demoralizing to the movement. This is a Mexican standoff between the counties and the governor, and Sheriff Jenkins is front and center.

And if you just so happen to live in Culpeper, or know people who do, rally local support for him. Attend your city and county meetings and make sure your elected officials know that the people of the county are 100% behind Jenkins, and they should be, too, if they plan on getting reelected. Do not let them waver their support. And make sure that they all understand that this is nothing but a cheap scare tactic meant to manipulate them into doing the governor's work for him.

It's an empty threat that has no basis in reality. If these people were actually stupid enough to cut off the food supply, they would be inviting armed convoys from all over the nation, and they would be bringing a lot more than just food. The governor knows this, and they're not about to invite that kind of PR. It is nothing but a cheap and entirely empty threat.

He knows that. It's just fear mongering. Empty threats designed to scare the lowest common denominator of angry moms in Culpeper, in the hopes that they'll shout him down.

Yep. I've yet to meet a trucker who is any further left or less pro gun than Ted Nugent.
