Hello yall, I'm currently working on building an AR pistol and I'm working on getting a suppresor on it, one that threads for a 30 cal. It's got a 9" barrel with corresponding parts all from BCM. What I'm wondering is the hand guard, I'm looking at either a 7" or 8" and I'm not sure if there will be enough room on an 8" for a suppressor or not. Thoughts? Thank you.

8” handguard should work with the 9” barrel. Keep in mind that these numbers are nominal, so the barrel might be 8.75” and the handguard might be 8.25”, which would add up to a nogo. I’ve not had them stack up that way on any of my uppers, just something to consider.

Also, different cans require more or less clearance. But a 9” barrel with an 8” handguard should be fine with most. What cans are you looking at?

Thanks! I've heard good stuff about both the GMT 300BLK suppressor as well as the Cyclone 300aac blackout suppressor. Any suggestions would be appreciated though.
