I got my first pair of shoot me first pants. Now I need my first pair of shoot me first shoes to go with it. Preferably grey or black.

I’m a size 16 - that matters. seems no one goes up that high. Any suggestions?

I wear Adidas.

I want Merrells but they don’t make my size either.

But then, you know my situation....

I wear 14/15. I can't imagine trying to track down a 16 in something you actually like. I wear Adidas as well. Good luck

Holy shit. Do these shoes run kinda long and are they worth a damn?

They almost have my size. If they are like boot size then I can rock on in the free world.

Keen is generally well regarded and Zappos should take care of you if there is a problem.

Altama OTB shoes are quite comfortable. I also wear a 16 usually. The 15s fit me fine.

My work boots are Danner Tachyon also in 15. I have to convince myself not to wear them everyday. Other Danner boots I have to wear 16s.

I also have a few 5.11 boots I wore when I worked for a plain clothes agency. The range masters held up quite well. Those are also in 15.

My foot is narrow so the 15s usually fit me.

No experience with large sizes, but Keen's are very comfortable and (with one exception they seem to have corrected on the Targhee III) very durable.

Targhee II (have a pair on right now) start out with the outer heel designed so that it is like having several months wear right out of the box and wear through to the mid sole in about half the time of anything else. As mentioned, they appear to be have corrected that.

Zappos has excellent CS. Might take the plunge. If too small get refund. Some reviews say toe box very generous. I’ve always wanted Merrells but the simply dont make them my size.

And while it is all Cheeki Breeki to wear Adidas all day....I too want shoes that are not quite boots but can be outdoorsy

Im ignorant, is "Shoot me first" a brand, or just a slogan for tactical gear.

PBI'm in the same boat but figured he meant tactical by the links

I am guessing "Shoot me first" means large, and thus attention focusing, target.

I'm only a size 10 wide but I've had several pairs of Lowa boots that wear great and are comfy standing all day.

And you look more like a granola hipster wearing hiking boots than someone to be shot [emoji6]

I've worn out a couple of pairs of Targhee's, they are great. I wear 11.5 in them and 12's in about everything else.

The term "shoot me first" generally refers to typical tactical, CCW, "I'm armed/switched on" looking clothing or equipment. To the best of my knowledge it began around the time when shooting vests became popular, like the 5.11 tactical vest or "photographers vest". Other common "shoot me first" items include cobra buckle belts, anything with a 5.11 logo or tag on it, anything from the Arcteryx LEAF line, Merrel MOAB hikers, Danner Acadia line boots etc.

I’ll add another vote for Keen. Mine have taken a beating over the years of desert use.

This.

Sorry. Should’ve been more clear. Wanted some “tactical” ish shoes that have water proofing and are durable/comfortable.

I was going to suggest the Salomon For es but alas they only go up to size 15...I have some of the non-tactical Salomon trail shoes....they are amazing. Way nicer/better than any Merrell or Keen I have worn.

Are you truly in a size 16, or are you sizing up to accommodate a wider foot.

If you are sizing up for width, look at Oboz Footwear. www.obozfootwear.com

Waterproofing, breathable, durable, very comfortable, definitely outdoorsy yet doesn't give off a "sheepdog" vibe. They size up to 15, and their wide sizing has been a blessing.

My feet are very skinny. Ask Firefly. He has a thing for them. (I kinda wish I was kidding)

I find Keens run small. Normally I wear an 8 but in Keens it's and 8-1/2.
