I've got close to 1,000 rounds through this one, and so far so good. No problems what so ever. The gun has a very good trigger, and shows good workmanship. Very few tool marks, with an excellent overall fit and finish. (Serial # 1459).

Cylinder and Slide seems quite fond of these. Is that because there's no other option for new guns to build on or because they are a solid base on which to build? Maybe a combination of these?

B&H Spring Solutions also looks at them quite favorably. They have several improvement kits for them including springs, extractors, extra barrels and such.

I’ve thought of getting one to have a “shooter” Hi-Power because I like to take it easy on my FN MkII

To be honest, that's why I bought this one. I didn't want to run up a high round count on my 2, 75th Anniversary Model Hi-Powers.... Especially since Browning stopped production on them.
