I'm looking around for a .625 diameter low profile gas block, one of the ones made from a standard front sight block. Where can I find one, especially one made by Colt? I'm finishing up putting together a duty rifle and realized that the gas blocke that I had sitting aside was 750.
Thanks

Not sure about a shaved FSB version, but our pinnable 625 LPGB is here.

Just looking for a standard one to reuse my existing taper pin holes.

You can't reuse the holes. They are match drilled.

Your question is one I had asked myself, OP.

Senor scottryan has provided the answer, and Clint has provided a viable option if you no longer have the original FSB. If you do have the original FSB, ADCO will trim it for you, as does...someone else who is referenced here regularly. Maybe John Thomas?

Are you reusing a Colt barrel? Which one? You can buy most Colt barrels now with a factory shaved FSB.

Any idea why this is the case? In the grand scheme of things I know it doesn't matter, but it seems odd that something would be drilled without a fixture.

Dangit.
I unfortunately no longer have the original gas block. I wound up getting taper pins and a shaved gas block from someone, but didn't check beforehand and now I see that it is .750.
Even though they are matched to the specific front sight, I would think that it would be close enough to line up, especially with a gas block made by Colt. Is this not the case?
My other option is another gas block, but I really like the durability of the pinned ones.

The best option in your case is to use a clamp on style gas block. You will be unable to dimple the barrel for a standard low pro gas block.

No, they are literally like snow flakes.

I have done a mismatched used M16A2 barrel and used front sight tower. Based on that experience, .750" barrels have enough meat to drill and tap the fsb and barrel for cap or set screws(been awhile, but think I used 10-32), but not sure if that is do-able on a .625" barrel.

Colt doesn't manufacturer rifles like Blaser does. The FSB is cast so there is NO reference point to make an accurate index point from. Like it or not Colt makes no attempt to build a rifle like the Swiss build a fine watch. If Colt built watches they would be looking up at Timex!

This will cover the "scar" An option is to dry fit the new fsb and see how close it is and buy a fsb reamer. Trimming one isn't that hard, just time.

Hey, thanks for the links. I think I've decided to reuse my BCM gas block, but I will need a new set screw as the front one stripped out. Additionally, I will use my new Colt FSB pins to fill the holes in the barrel. I will cut and sand them smooth.
This project just got a bit more complicated! Oh well, the best things in life are worth waiting for.

You are making this problem more difficult than it has to be.

Just buy a Colt barrel with a factory shaved FSB and sell you existing barrel.

They money fairy has not delivered my unlimited funds, unfortunately.
My barrel, though a Colt 6720 barrel, is painted and therefore not super valuable. I considered that, but it's a good barrel and there's no good reason why I can't just reuse it.
So that's where I'm at for right now.

I always make some derivative of these noises when I complete a fun project like your on:
