The Swiss were actually the first to officially adopt the Luger pistol.

They were first manufactured in Germany at DWM (Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken) from 1900 to 1914, then in Switzerland at the Waffenfabrik Bern from 1918 to 1946, until it’s replacement by the P49 (SIG P210).

Mine is a 06/24 variation. It was produced in 1922. I bought it in 2013 for $ 1000.-. It was in a beautiful condition, and still is but I’ve probably shot another 2000 rounds with it since.

Caliber is 7.65 mm Parabellum, also called .30 Luger. Barrel is 120 mm, it holds 8 cartridges in the magazine plus one in the chamber.

Gorgeous pistols and IMO extremely underpriced in the market. There are WAY WAY fewer Swiss Lugers than German guns out there and while they are valued less because they were never used in a war, I see that as an upside because they aren't beat to hell.

I love mine.

I have almost the exact same pistol , serial 28xxx, I am always amazed at the good condition of old Swiss arms. They must have maintained them meticulously.
