Are you suprised?
What catapulted us to the top? Out producing all other nations during WWII. Then as soon as the war was over they began tearing that down.

WWII generation raised their children (the boomers) telling them go to college you don't want to end up in this factory. So we had the largest glut of American population that had an alarming proportion that felt they were above working in manufacturing.

Had a several hundred word rant, but will cut it short.

We need to cowboy up and take the hits the next few years and turn this shit around or our descendants will be f8cked.

This is all laid out very nicely in Martin Van Creveld's book, "The Transformation Of War, published in 1991. Other takes on it allude to "4th (and now 5th) Generation War.

This stuff is coming to a neighborhood near you. and as Van Creveld says, "you will not like it".

If we continue to be greedy, shortsighted, and generally dumb as rocks :o, this is what our future will look like.

Anyone know where I can find the actual gov't article? It sounds similar to the article the State Department released concerning global warming, food shortages and massive migrations over then next 30 years.

Nevermind, I found it. Here it is for anyone who wants it.

Well put.

We must come to terms with the end of the dollar as world reserve currency and, with this, the end of dollar hegemony. Only thus will we focus on creating wealth by manufacturing or producing products which others are willing to buy with real money. The American Way of Life, printing money to pay for purchases, is over. we must produce and save, spend less than we earn. What a concept!
