Armalite Middy Barrels

Ok I got a Armalite Middy barrel for 160.00. Was going to get a M4 type barrel but this came with a A2 FH, Gasblock, and chrome-lined barrel for 160.00.

Now the question is does anyone here run their barrels?

My wife has a LE Armalite AR and she loves it eventhough it is a med contour barrel.

This middy is medium Contour as well so what are the pros to this compared to a Govt Profile?

My other middy is a Sabre so now I need to figure out which one to free float.

I built from one earlier this year, and am waiting for parts to finish another.

Its heavier than a govt profile of course, but not as much as a true Hbar. For comparison its within an ounce or 2 of a 16" Sabre fluted mid weight. Both being 2.5lbs or so with gas block and flash hider. It could stand be a smaller profile to lose some weight, but I don't mind it so much for what I am doing. If I was shooting freehand mostly I would want govt profile.

Mine made an 8lb rifle with M4 stock and light weight YHM middy handguard and a scope, if that gives an idea.
