FNH .45

Hello,
I am considering buying a new FNH .45. Does anyone here know of any reason why I should not related to the quality, reliability or durability of the gun?
Does anyone know what the expected life span of the gun should be?
Does anyone know what parts should be replaced and when?
Where is the best place to buy parts?
Does it work well with a can?

I think it's not tested, it's huge which is not necessarily an issue, and there are other new alternatives that I think make more sense. My pick would easily be the M&P .45. Great service from Smith, best ergonomics, very accurate. Having taken the market by storm there are lots of accessories available.
