Can someone tell me if the Daniel Defense 9.0 Omega will fit a Colt 6920 without modification to the front sight block? Thanks.

It will not.

What you want for a 6920 is the 7.0

Thanks Rob. I'm right handed and don't run a front grip, so I was trying to get the flashlight out farther down the barrel (on the left side of the carbine) so my left hand thumb would have better access to the tailcap, but I guess I'll have to think of something else. Currently I have no FF rail and the light is mounted on the front sight block with good access for my left hand thumb. Any ideas?

You could try something like the AR 15 Lite Rail 9.5 FSP (http://www.danieldefense.com/?page=shop/detail&product_id=75) or M4 Rail 9.5 FSP (http://www.danieldefense.com/?page=shop/detail&product_id=26).

Obviously, these are not as easily installed as the Omega, and cost a little more.

I had one and never used it. Here's some reference pics

I'd highly recommend a Daniel Defense RIS II and that way you can run a Surefire X200/300 at 12 o'clock. At 12 o'clock you can activate the light from either side with your support/reaction side hand.

I installed this one on lindertws' 6920.

Troy makes the MRF-CX which doesn't require the removal of the barrel or front sight to install.

I really, really want to go "long" on my next rail system, but I'm trying to keep the weight down on the carbine.

GotM4 did a killer job on that.

Worth. Every. Penny.

Robb installed one on my 6920, and I just got it back today. Very fast turn-around, and he installed a PWS FSC556 to boot. A big tip of the hat to those nice folks at VA Arms.

I'm still experimenting with the panels and rail protectors, and trying a shorty TD foregrip with it. I'm ordering a X300 from Grant on Friday.

It is, as you young folk say, the heat. :D

landlord - weight as shown in the pic above is ~7lb 10.5oz. I made a few small changes (moved the light back, moved XTM panels back, added T-1 and MIAD) and she weighs in at 8lb 1oz as shown below:

Para, in addition to the M4A1 FSP model, there are three other DD RIS II offerings - but none are middy config w/FSP cutout.

RIS II M4A1 (NSN 1005-01-547-2624)
12.57" long, 2.232" wide, 16.2oz

RIS II GL/SSC (NSN 1005-01-548-1381)
11.79" long, 2.232" wide, 15.5oz

RIS II MK18 (NSN 1005-01-548-1385)
9.58" long, 2.232" wide, 14.5oz

Stick posted pictures here (https://www.m4carbine.net/showpost.php?p=237053&postcount=5). Hope this helps...

I will do so. I'm going to do a couple of range trips, to see what works best on the rail covers and panels.

If the shorty TD grip does not work well, I'll probably just put it on my daughter's AR. I'm waiting for the Magpul MBUS to ship, that is what I want as the BUIS. I'm going to use the T-1 with the tall Larue mount, same as you.

Have you found a low-powered LED to mount, to use as a running light? The way the Surefire 900 LED's work? I am thinking about getting a small red LED squeeze light, and gluing it into a TD pocket rail panel. I'll post a picture of it, when I buy a camera.
