View Full Version : "Budget" option for 1.7 or 1.93 scope mount
My current preferred scope height is Badger's 1.7 mount but I have a strike eagle that's going on my beater gun and am trying to find something at that height or maybe 1.93 but doesn't cost $300. Are there any options besides a used/on sale Geissele? Warne, Aero, DD, MI, and probably some others all have decent options that are between $100-200 for what I need but I can't find a single one that is taller than the normal 1.54.
I don't think there are any budget scope mounts out there that are that height. You could keep your costs down by using one of these. They are surprisingly well built without any huge knobs sticking out.

You can get them on ebay for like $15-16 shipped.

Yeah I was wondering about risers. I’d seen a few but most were either huge or made for red dots. That could be an option, 6061 isn’t bad and that should be pretty hard to screw up.

Doublestar (yeah, I know) actually makes a decent 1/2" pic riser for cheap. USA made, 7075, two crossbolt screws for 3 slots. BCM sells them, or buy direct.
Pick up a used NF 1.375 or 1.5 unimount and a couple of risers will get you there for not much more total weight than a Geissele.

If you can do rings instead of 1 piece Swampfox offers rings at 1.6 and 1.93 heights. They also have RMR footprint mount built in and are made of 7075
Mike from Primary Arms is their head marketing guy. I believe they have a cantilever option coming but not out yet

Optics planet or another vendor may sell for less

Or there's always the original: https://www.larue.com/products/larue-tactical-spr-m4-1-93-mount-qd-lt135/
MSRP is slightly over your budget, but I'm sure you can find deals elsewhere: https://www.americandefensemanufacturing.com/view/product/188/
MSRP is definitely over budget, but it still ain't 300 USD: http://www.bobroengineering.com/Single-Lever-193_p_98.html
So ended up cancelling the strike Eagle and bought a razor 1-10 so no longer looking at a budget mount...
That said, I feel like it’s a gap in the market that should be filled.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the OP,
but ADM and MI both make taller scope mounts under $200. Probably even better priced through some distributors or with discounts.

I didn’t word it well but I was looking for one closer to $100. The $200 was a reference to places I know of that did have some but just didn’t want to spend that much considering what I was getting.
