Can someone just take a look at this latest purchase and tell me what you think of the specs as I don't know everything on these specs, I bought this basically like for a road trip gun/truck gun as I can cross state lines with it and not have issues versus a rifle or my Sbr.

Thanks for your review.

What is a split fix? What about the barrel out of curiosity, is it a decent one?

The Split Fix is a replacement for the arm strap that stiffens and supports the rubber "wings" without changing the design or intent. The Split Fix significantly improves function and protects the SBA3.

The only way to determine is the barrel is good is to shoot the AR.

Or install a suppressor.

I happen to have a suppressor which I will test it with. Thanks for the responses.

They seem to be tightening up their ports in the past year or two. I’ve not checked a 10.5” yet.

Op, when you pull that A2 flash suppressor, let us know about the thread shoulder.

BRT has the fix for that

I actually bought a PSA pistol kit two years ago? It has most of the same specs as the OP, except a nitride BCG with 9310 bolt. I have about 2k rounds through it at this point, all good except one stuck wolf casing.

I'd agree with most of the upgrades mist wolf citied, except they aren't required to make the gun shoot. It will run reliably out of the box, the H2 buffer and extractor spring just help. I measured my gas port at 0.073-74 with micrometer. Adding the BRT gas tube did little, but I thought I needed it cause members on this forum that don't own a single PSA think they know what gas port they are running. The port is just loose enough to run steel ammo and lock back, but it doesn't feel overgassed at all with full 556 loads. The only way I would recommend an adjustable gas block is if your suppressor has alot of back pressure. For unsuppressed use, I think it is a very fair port size for most ammo.

I added a new rail and muzzle device to mine cause I didn't like how long a 12" rail and blast forward device made my 10.5 barrel. It was too close in overall length to my 14.5. I like my guns to fill a role.

I think I have under $750 into that whole gun if you don't count the flash light. I know PSA doesn't get the most brand recognition on this site, but this little blaster is a proven to me.

EDIT: I also use mine as a camp/truck/HD gun, and I am actually glad I don't have the same money tied into this gun as say my BCM. If it ever gets taken for evidence or stolen from my camp/truck... its half the cost of a 'decent' rifle. As for the quality of the barrel, besides the GP being GTG, I have never actually grouped it on paper at 100 with a real optic. It has only been zero'd at 50 yards, and then bangs steel at 300. It's more than accurate enough for what I need a 10.5 to do.

Had the same upper a few years back. Ran good. Was a 2-3 moa shooter but no issues otherwise.

I ordered the springs and will swap them out and I am waiting to order the split fix. I have slings lights red dots and everything else you could imagine.
Thanks for the help.

How do you like the Magpul? I need something to keep me from slipping my hand too far forward and having a big problem,I have to swap the charging handle to a Bcm also.
I also have BCM rifles and SBR's which won't work when I cross state lines on vacation especially when i retire.

BRT is Black River Tactical
https://blackrivertactical.com/

They are known for their gas restriction tubes, barrels with good features, and a pretty popular linear compensator.

If you just wanted to cross state lines, you could have bought the lower for around $150 and used your SBR upper.

If you wanted a new weapon, it's probably ok.

Why can't you cross state lines with an SBR? Form 20s aren't hard to fill out, and can be done for an entire year at a time.

Like most posts of this nature, dunno why people don't ask first then buy, rather than the other way around.

I never said I couldn't cross state lines with an SBR, some states have issues with rifles and AR's but not pistols. Don't underestimate people that post here perhaps they know more than you do.
