Does anybody know how many crimes are commited each year with these types of weapons in america? If I had to guess I would say less than 5% of shooting crimes. I could be wrong but I honestly think more people get choked to death every year than killed by an AR-15 or AK-47. I just don't understand why they want these weapons banished. It surley isn't because they are involved in the majority of shooting crimes. The only reason I can think of for them doing this is to disarm america so that if there was ever a rebellion against the government all we would have is slingshots and six shooters and we would not stand a chance.
There will be no rebellion here, ever. I seriously doubt anyone in DC is even remotely concerned about that. They went door to door in New Orleans and illegally confiscated guns, without compensation or legal justification, and no one did a damn thing except put the video on You Tube and EVEN THEN no one did a damn thing. They even bragged they would do it again if they had to, despite a court order. They refused the return the weapons, despite a court order. No one did crap.
Gun control is about just that - control. Gun ownership promotes self sufficiency which goes against the socialist order they are trying to force down our throats.
Gun control is part of the "re-education" of America, just as Social Security, bailouts, stimulus plans, and socialized medicine are.
EBR's are just a step in the plan to totally disarm to population. You can quote all the statistics you want, it doesn't matter. They are bad. They said so. Right on the TV.

I agree there is no sign of a rebellion. We are far from that. Its just that a ban on these weapons is just the first of many steps to "neuter" us if you will and render us totally submissive to the will of the government.

exactly, you can't logically argue with an emotional, ignorant, factless based cowd. the t.v. said they are high powered so they must be, just as they are fully automatic and can be bought without a background check and never register their gun or ammo :eek:
the msm is setting the groundwork for registration in case a ban doesn't happen, alot of reports lately will state that the gun and ammo in that crime weren't registered.
I have a list, of the top ten crime guns in this nation, and NOWHERE on it is any EBR! Its a bunch of cheap guns like Lorcins etc, SW Revolvers, a Glock and Mossberg Pumps

The problem with statistics is that they can also be a double-edged sword.
Gungrabber says, "What? Revolvers and pump-guns cause more death than EBRs?!! Put them on the banned list too!!"

Though the incidents of killings or mass shootings with "assault styled" weapons are indeed low it doesn't matter. There are those in power and the mediaas well as many liberals who feel that "we the people" do not have a need for them. They will then use everyone of these incidents to show that they are evil and should be banned.
They are able to use emotions and the fact that a large percentage of the population is ignorant about firearms. Combine this with a concerted media effort and you get stupid laws passed.

Yeah, my local dealer used to carry them only because they had a warranty but I haven't seen any there for a number of years recently.
