Calling this my "quarantine build" because it really just started out of boredom. Also because I wanted to try a few new things, namely the Leupold LCO. Always been an Aimpoint & Eotech guy but have been curious about this optic for quite a while now. I like its features. Also very interested to see how the Criterion barrel performs.

Some parts were selected like I said to try different components or brands that I haven't had much experience with yet...trigger, handguard, sights, etc. Hoping to throw all this together within the next few days.

UPPER:

Vltor MUR receiver

Criterion CORE 14.5" .223 Wylde 1-8 twist barrel

Geissele MK8 13" handguard

BCM bcg & charging handle

BCM low-pro gas block

Lantac black nitrided gas tube

Lantac/SilencerCo Dragon muzzle brake (with a SilencerCo ASR blast shield on its way)

Midwest Industries Combat iron sights

Leupold LCO

Not pictured: my lighting system. Still undecided...might go with my usual Surefire Scout & SR07 switch or try the Modlite OKW with the Hot Button.

LOWER:

Vltor VRA-R receiver

Magpul SL-S stock

Hiperfire EDT Heavy Gunner trigger

Phase 5 safety selector

Not pictured: BCM Mod 0 grip and Knight's Armament trigger guard (both still on their way)

Sling will be either a Ferro Concepts Slingster or Vickers

Nice selection of parts and should make for a nice rifle. But you'd better get it put together and update this thread before a mod stumbles across it and moves or deletes it. This section is for completely assembled ARs.

Well here she is. Hopefully she doesn't blow up lol. Everything actually went super smooth (for a change).

I used Loctite 609 on the barrel extension which I've never done before. Aeroshell on receiver/barrel nut threads as usual.

Hoping to take her out this weekend to see what she does.

Very nice.
Interested to see if you feel that 609 made a difference. I’ve been cutting some shims to myself on a current build.

It looks great! With so many items that are custom, is it that you like the original pistol grip? In my old age, I've found that a larger grip(magpul) allows me to shoot more without the ole arthritis reminding me I am past my prime.

Strong work ! !
Like the before and after approach for photos....meaning it is nice to see and read what you started with then see the final product.
