What I really want is something like this, but will take a standard 1913 segment since I doubt it's possible.

I need steel so that it can more easily be welded to another steel part. Everything I find is for aluminum.

I find steel bases (http://www.mountsplus.com/miva/merchant.mvc?store_code=MSP&screen=PROD&product_code=BRP-SSA-020), but would prefer not to have to spend $85 on this.
