One fact has made me very proud of M4C members so far. We have not had even one moronic Glock or 1911 bashing thread.

None, Nada, Zip.

That speaks highly of you guys.

"The 1911 was the design given by God to us through John M. Browning that represents the epitome of what a killing tool needs to be. It was true in 1911 and is true now." —Colonel Robert J. Coates, USMC

Pat Rogers advised me that this is an accurate quote.

I have a 1911 for each of my children and a Glock 19 as well. The ones who are carrying favor the 1911, even when they have to pay half the ammunition cost. Fundamentalists? No, Calvinists!

Well the HS2000 used to be $300 and neither Glock owners or 1911 owners would touch them because they thought cost equaled quality.

They are an awesome gun now that they are $250 more expensive. :D

Milkman,

That is so not true, I am both a Glock and 1911 owner. I began my firearms loving life as a Glock fanatic...it wasn't until a few years ago I bought my first 1911, and then it began...I am now a 1911 convert! When I first heard about the HS2000, I wanted one really bad.

Problem was, at the time I was living in California...and they were about $350, while everywhere else they were in the $240 range. I waited it out, hoping for the best...the best never came. Prices only continued to go higher, and then Springfield started importing them.

I am still waiting to get a chance to shoot one of the Springfield Armory pistols, to see if I am missing anything! I have a friend with one, and passed on the opportunity to shoot it last weekend, because I was enjoying my 1911.

I will always be a Glock fanatic, however; my true love is the 1911. I am still learning about the 1911 now, and have done a lot of the work on mine all by myself. I am told, by many, that my 1911 has the nicest trigger pull ever.

Like Submariner, I have a Glock for each of my sons, but I will be keeping my 1911 for me!:D

I personally own a Glock 17, 20, 21, & 31. SIG 220ST, CZ85 Combat, Springfield Armory 1911 'Loaded', STI 2011 (.40). S&W 625, M&P9 and later today I'm buying a M&P9 Compact.

Nothing fits my hand as good as a 1911 style or an M&P. I tried the XD but I don't care for the high bore axis but it does feel good in the hand (it's is a damn good gun other than that).

With my 'tuned' by me M&P9 I'm shooting it faster and as accurately as my very accurate Limited STI 2011. And I'm only slightly slower on reloads (which is easy to fix, I just need to practice). I'm getting a little burnt out on shooting Limited (barely any reloads) so I'm going back to shooting Production for a while plus the M&P is a lot lighter and easier on my left elbow (I have tennis elbow). My first match with the M&P9 was last weekend and I placed 5th in Production and I didn't even finish a stage (I had a split casing stuck in the chamber, Black Hills blue box). Only the 3rd time I shot Production this year.

All that said I usually carry a Glock 20/21 or 31.

Sorry, Dinger. I'm going broke buying ammo/components so the 8-year-old can shoot someday.:(

Robb, is that the bullet in front of the previous casing in the air? That's kinda cool if it is! :p
