But present at the birth of ARA were members of America’s long-time revolutionary clique, with roots going all the way back to the domestic terror group Weather Underground. Consulting the young anti-racist punks in the formation of ARA were members of the John Brown Anti-Klan Committee (JBAKC). Several separate ARAs would go on to form one of the largest Antifa networks in the country, Torch Antifa, whose website was registered by a former JBAKC member.

Newsmax is reporting as of a few minutes ago that Antifa has taken over a section of Seattle, calling it an autonomous zone.

More than a take over of a zone. They occupied a Police precinct and took over a 6 block area. They have now "stormed" city hall:

Hummm.... can anybody say insurrection...???

I'm curious to see where this "playing house" goes. Authorities gave them the space to try to contain the shenanigans to an area.

It's day 2 - They are low on food and requesting more armed individuals.

I can't wait to see their immigration and deportation policy.

Anyone want to slap a "CHAZ Moderator" patch on and become a warlord with me?

I've got good, armed friends up in that area. Ready for some serious shit. Hopefully they just leave the zone peacefully and go back to their parents Lake Washington homes.

I'm having trouble seeing an ending that plays out well for the antifa crowd and their "street cred"

I say let Seattle have a taste of what they've longed for. I mean, if these big cities want to be their own countries, I guess that means they don't get reps in Congress...

Let's hope in the grand tradition of the SLA we can have a cookout. Free hotdogs for all the kiddies.

Thank you for the article. I have been reminded of "the failing Weimar Republic" since Dubya doubled the debt, then Obama doubled it again, and now Trump is continuing to blow it up... and he is still the best option in presidential candidates.

Anyone remember the TEA Party? I do not think they will be battling Antifa in the streets a la 1920s "Wurtemburg Highway Watch.." When communists cause chaos and the police can't/won't intercede, you get competing voluntary associations that will, and could end up with the Soviet Union or Nazi Germany or Fascist Spain or Italy. No real difference between them, all socialists, they just competed for the same recruits. Normal people get screwed either way. Hi history, here we go again.

I think Matt Bracken wrote an article on how he thought this would work out in modern times, the CW2 cube. Have to look that up and see how close he was. Anyway, it's not looking good for the good guys, i.e., normal people.

I’m curious if Seattle would be, let’s just say, as lenient, if it were a right leaning Anti-Antifa group that had established a CHAZ.

Chances are probably not.

Right now, the best thing the moderate and right can do is observe and prepare. Speaking out and counterprotesting is counterproductive; anything except total support for the agents of chaos is shouted down as racism. A few lessons need to be learned before we can move, and right now, Antifa, BLM, and the other leftist ilk have not fully shown their colors. This CHAZ takeover was, by the standards of war, relatively peaceful. They took over an area that already supported them. It's not like a bunch of soldiers made a last stand attempting to hold the ground. Antifa is not dragging people out of their homes and shooting them in the street. They're playing out their fantasy utopia. Soon enough, the wrong person is going to say the wrong thing in this "autonomous zone" and the people will see what these groups really are. When the people start getting "taxed" and Antifa members start enforcing their laws, the truth will come out.

Two other things that will likely come of this: 1) They will start coming out of the shadows. They think they're on the verge of setting up their new nation, so they are going to be more visible, open, and centralized. Their central leaders will become known.

2) They are also going to start getting more cocky and more violent. Right now, they have support because, mostly, their violence has been brutal, but non-lethal. Most of their destruction has been of buildings. Their actions have been justified as "what happens when you push people to their limits." If things keep on as they are, however, they're going to start shooting and bombing soon. If they're trying to take and hold ground, they're going to eventually try to take the wrong neighborhood, and they're going to see what actual firefights look like. It will also wake everyone else up.
