CHOP is roughly 1200*1700ft for a total of 2,040,000 sqft or 0.07sq miles
Seattle is 142 sq miles, with a population of 750,000 for 5300 people per sq mile

Based on 5300 per sq mile * 0.07 sq miles, there are about 370 people living in CHOP

CHOP has existed for 13 days, or 1/28 of a year. So at this rate CHOP will have 28 murders per year.

28 murders per 370 people is 0.0756 murders per person, or 7500 murders per 100,000 population.

For comparison murders per 100,000:
El Salvador (61.80)
Jamaica (57)
Honduras (41.7)
Belize (37.9)
South Africa (35.9)
Lesotho (Bahamas)
Brazil (30.5)
Saint Lucia (29.6)
Guatemala (26.1)
Dominica (25.7)

But, but you can't keep having murders at that rate!!!!! Hold my soy-Latte. Even if this is their only murder this year, they still have 270/100,000, putting them on the leader board..

But they are a small country- a few on the top 10 are also small.

You made rounding errors.... heck if I always screw up the decimal place, so check the math if you want.

But Wikipedia says the population density is 9000/sqmile, OK so multiple everything by 0.6.

So congratulations. Your socialist utopia is already the most dangerous place in the world, especially for black people.

Pass it along. Science, math; these are facts. You have to follow the data....

I just want to know how the name changed from CHAZ to CHOP in the space of one weekend. If we are changing it's name why not change it to Capitol Hill Occupied Autonomous District (CHOAD)?

It's a test to see how much we'll let them get away with setting their own narrative. I don't agree with everything in this piece but think it's worth a read:

Not workin' here, I'm still gonna call it the Demoratic People's Republic of Soymalia.

Seattle mayor is now talking about closing the Autonomous Shooting Zone.

What happened the 'summer of love'? Summer just began three days ago.

It will be interesting to see what the war zone looks like and to hear about all the crime that really happened once the rioters leave.

CHOP may end in its current form, but the radical movement that inspired it is just getting warmed up.

https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/homeless/seattle-city-council-votes-to-repeal-loitering-laws-but-groups-say-much-more-is-needed/

Coming soon:
* Total repeal of loitering laws -- that just happened (read: more homeless tents, more aggressive panhandling, more open drug trade and prostitution solicitations)
* The head of the public defender office wants to "...defund and end the prosecution of most misdemeanors."
* And: "The next priorities, according to organizer and candidate for state representative Sherae Lascelles, are to defund the Seattle Police Department and demand 'full decriminalization of sex work and drug use,' among other steps."

Well on the way to turning a once beautiful city into a dystopian hell-hole that nobody in their right mind will want to live or work in. Joining San Fran in the race to the bottom.

Hot damn sign me up. I'll start packing up the family and can be there by the end of the week. Can't wait to enroll my little girl in Seattle public schools.

If the citizens vote “D” in November knowing full well the Left’s agenda then they deserve everything they get.

Don't forget the wholesale election fraud in King County that disenfranchises the entire rest of the state... Look at Rossi v Gregoire, 2000. After the courts did that, and then Soros bought a California-style 2-D Jungle Primary initiative... our ballots are a token protest rather than meaningful elections.

God help us all... :(

I really didn't think that I would have to re-do the numbers, but another murder, another calculation.

CHOP is roughly 1200*1700ft for a total of 2,040,000 sqft or 0.07sq miles check

CHOP has existed for 13 now 21 days, or 1/28 now 1/17of a year. So at this rate CHOP will have 28 murders per year now 34 murders per year

34 murders per 370 people is 0.0919 murders per person, or 9200 murders per 100,000 population.

YEAH! A NEW RECORD!!!!

And all of them black- 100%! That's showing the American racist society!! Progressives looked at America and said "Hold my Soy Latte" and went to work making the most dangerous place in the world for people in general, and black men in particular... At nearly 1000/100,000, you are looking at near 1%, or statistically, you will be killed rather than grow old and die from COVID if you live in CHAZ.

Remember "Silence is Violence!!!!", get the word out about Chopper CHAZ.
