I started this in late February but the project stalled with the current madness in the world. I just received the barrel back from the smith for the P/W and went ahead with final assembly.

Build Sheet:

Hardware:
Spikes Receiver set
Tool Craft Bolt
Geissele 13.5" MK4 rail
Aero LPK
BCM Buffer Tube/Spring+ H buffer
Surefire Warcomp
Geissele Charging
Daniel Defense 14.5 CHF/CL barrel with DD gas tube and Geissele gas block pinned to 16"+
Larue MBT trigger

Optics/Sights:
Eotech EXPS
Mag Pull Mbus Pro

Everything Else:
B5 Sopmod Stock
Magpul K grip
Railscales Karve handstop
B5 Trigger guard
Streamlight ProTac Rail Mount 2

I wasn't grinding down a $60 Snap-on crows foot to fit the flats on the Warcomp.

That is a tippy top looking gun. My only qualm if I were personally building it would be the Spike's lower; the last one I purchased had a tight mag well and wouldn't drop any brand of magazine free.

What made you choose the closed tine Warcomp over the open tine version?

The mag well is gtg on this one. Drops empty plastic and metal mags without issue.

I almost did the 3 prong but decided against it. The closed tine is shorter, can't get snagged in the tines, and being closed it wont likely break if dropped. In the unlikely event it did break a tine, that would be a real pain in the ass to have it removed. It should still suppress nearly 100% of the flash(98% flash suppression according to Surefire) I saw 0 muzzle flash when test firing at the dimly lit indoor range.

Personally, the open tine pings too much for me. I have been using the closed tine as of late.

Nicely set up carbine. Any range report? Reliability? Accuracy? Anything you would like to change?

The outdoor ranges at the moment are under ridiculous covid rules (Must make reservations and only for 1 hour, can't hang paper targets, range provides steel, 1 cease fire per hour etc) so I haven't had a chance to do see how it does at distance. I did do a solid flawless function check of 120 rounds and a quick sight in of the dot at 25 yards at an indoor range. Little quarter sized groups at 25 yards so It's accurate enough.

Hi,
Very nice build!

Your not going to beat a DD hammer forged barrel for a CQB Rifle!

Mine shoots like a hammer!!!

I took it out to the 200 yard range this weekend and was absolutely thrilled with the accuracy.

Hi,
Told ya, not surprised!

Here is my Spikes Tactical upper and lower, with a DD 16" Middy hammer forged barrel and matching bolt, with Magpul furniture and a Military Aimpoint M2 Red Dot, co-witnessed on the front sight.

Quick, accurate and kicks like a pellet gun!

I think the gun looks amazing, all quality parts as well. DD barrel accuracy is great.
