That is what I keep telling myself... in just a few more months my retirement will be final and I can leave this God forsaken, backwards-ass toilet of the state of California (http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20061110/us_nm/life_pledge_dc_5).

There is simply no job in the world that is worth staying here... none.

Oh, if you want to let the school know how dipped in shit you think they are:

Would we want to tell the school they are feces coated due to:
* Course Cirriculum.
* Far left view points.
* In State tuititon policy regarding illegals.
* Same sex married professors.
* San Fransician policy regarding child molesters.
* Aids friendly .
* They framed Nancy Pulosi's first sponge. (which she forgot about until 1997)
* Gay Agenda.
* The new Mexican haven for those who should have been shot at the border.
* Taxation of money earned by hard workers to be doled to the least
deserving idiots for an education they will never get or put to use.
* Or that its just a scum bag school where the only thing you
learn is how to disrespect traditions and values and disgrace the country where people better than, have fought and died to entitle rights.
C'mon Kino dont hold back - tell us how you really feel. Move to Missouri would be glad to have you here ! BTW how is the dog ...

Got this today... I am glad that I emailed the college to let them know my concern, and that they are responsive.

Dear Mr. Davis:

Thanks for your email. I just wanted to let you know that the Pledge
of Allegiance situation at Orange Coast College is NOT an
institution-wide policy. The college has NOT banned the Pledge of
Allegiance on campus.

This particular policy was adopted by the student board for its
meetings, but many of the 25,000 students that the board represents
do not agree with the decision. Many students attended yesterday's
student board meeting, and stood in unison at the beginning of the
meeting to recite the pledge. So, the issue is now the subject of a
campuswide discussion and debate, and students are becoming involved.
That's a good thing!

I expect the discussion to go on for a while, and students will
benefit from that discussion.

Orange Coast College strongly supports the military, and we have
recruiters on campus throughout the year. Many of us who work on
this campus are military veterans, and we're proud of our service.

All the best,

Jim Carnett

The last few months go by quick. I had the misfortune of being stuck in P.R.Md for my last 18months. I was threatened with P.R.C but they sent me east. I don't think I would have lasted much longer than 18, but once I saw the light at the end... Good on ya for making your voice heard to that 'college'. Maybe the voices of many will keep it from turning into another berkley.

In what I must say is a very suprising event... the director of PR from the college emailed me back today to send me the following:

OCC'S STUDENT BOARD REINSTATES PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

By a 3-2 vote Monday afternoon (Nov. 20), Orange Coast
College's student board of trustees reinstated the Pledge of
Allegiance on its meeting agendas.

The board, on Nov. 6, voted 3-1, with one abstention, to
remove the requirement to list the pledge on its agenda. At recent
board meetings, however, some OCC students and staff members
spontaneously stood for the pledge at the beginning of the student
meetings.

Monday afternoon, the board voted to restore the flag salute
to its agenda. Beginning with Wednesday's meeting (Nov. 22), the
salute will be listed on the printed agenda as: "Call to
Order/Opportunity For the Pledge of Allegiance." The student board
meets twice weekly, on Monday and Wednesday afternoons.

In addition to returning the pledge to the agenda, the board
indicated an interest in surveying OCC's student body. The board
will administer an opinion poll to a representative sample of Orange
Coast College's 25,000 students to determine where the students stand
on the issue of saluting the flag at the beginning of student board
meetings.

What will they want to do next, petition the administration to remove the flags and flagpoles from the campus? It is incongruous that any citizen would object to the Pledge of Allegiance. Americans don't always need to agree, but Americans always need to stick together. What a bunch of smart-ass moronic punks.

Glad the student board was persuaded to re-institute their discussion.
