....getting rear ended, please.

Got a pretty reliable local dealer showing up at a show next weekend with "a bunch of 6920's" for around 1300.00.

Sound too good to be true? That's what I'm thinking.

I know I'm looking for "Colt's Law Enforcement Carbine" on the magwell. What other distinct features on the gun and/or packaging should I look for?

I hear the boxes that they come in are rather non-distinct.

BB;

Look for a serial number that begins with "LE," a 1/7" barrel with M4 cut, M4 marking on upper reciever, restricted marking on right side of mag well with L.E. Carbine marking on left side of mag well, manufacturer's marking will say Colt Defense.

The box has a blue label with the model on it (look at some of the classifieds or ads on different firearms auction sites that show the box-I'm at work & don't have pics of mine available).

Hope this helps.

I'd be very suspicious of that deal.

Only a fool would sell a NIB Colt 6920 for 1300.00 dollars.
It will be more like 1600.00 at the least.

Current Colts come in a cardboard box with a blue label on the
end. The gun will be inside a durable plastic bag inside a cardboard
retainer. You should get 2 20rd Colt magazines, a cleaning rod, bore
and chamber brushes, a sling and a manual, all inside a small plastic bag.

Check the outside edge of the brass deflector on the upper receiver.
If it's used there will be dings in the finish and possible brass markings.

The rifle should be nasty with a black thick grease that will look grey in it's
thicker areas. You'll see a thin white outline of grease around the windage
knob.

Extend the stock and look for wear on the receiver extension. Another
indicator it might be used.

You shouldn't be THAT suspicious. The going rate was 1300 or less for a 6920 a month ago. The dealer isn't paying any more for his stock now than he was then. So...good deal in the current market. Get two.:D

True!

But, it's called price gouging and rare is the retail dealer that's not
eyeball deep in it, considering today's environment.

I paid $1450.00 each for two last month. You are getting a good deal. Just check all the markings, it ain't rocket science. Sorry you were left hangin on the thread for a few days. Cheers.

There will also be a white sticker with the model #, serial # and barcode for both on the outside. You can double check the serial on the outside of the box, with the serial on the side of the receiver.

Also you should check to make sure that the bcg wasn't swapped out. It should be a full auto type with MPC stamped on bolt and a C stamped on the bc.

IIRC the only marking on the box is on one end panel.
