Just wanted to say a heart felt thank you to the members here who advised me on what AR-15 kits and spare parts to buy.
Based on advice here I bought:

>Two Toolcraft Black Nitride BCGs
>Two KNS tuned lower parts kits
>One KNS hammer cage
>Two complete Toolcraft black nitride 158 bolts
>One CMMG AR15 survial kit
>Two each:
<AR fix it kit
<Firing pins
< AR field repair kit
>Single Three set (9) of bolt gas rings
>Kit of five Firing pin retainer pins
>Two 3-count extractor spring kits
>Two SS gas tubes
>One non-adjustable gas block
>One buffer and spring
>Vol-1 Patrick Sweeney's AR manual

I am missing anything and should this be sufficient spare parts for 3 AR's?

Barrels, if you are running that many rounds to replace stuff.

This.

And magazines, and ammo.

Will have to pick up a couple of barrels I'm good on mags and not concerned about ammo.

Who makes a good barrel and twist rate? I have barrels with 1/8 and 1/7 right now. I prefer a AR barrel with a heavier contour and would prefer to not buy a light, pencil, hybrid or government contour barrel.

What barrel length? Carbine, midlength, or rifle gas system?

Probably consider new gas tubes and gas blocks too...

Based on that criteria, off the top of my head:
Spike's Optimum barrel
Sionics
Green Mountain GM-M8
Criterion CORE barrel
BA Hanson .750" gas block diameter
AR Performance
Black River Tactical MPR (uses proprietary gas length and therefore tube as well)

All my AR's have 16" heavy contour barrels and either mid length or carbine length gas systems and non-adjustable gas blocks.
I did order 1 each type of replacement gas tubes and one 0.750" gas block.

I believe all that's left to order would be barrels.

OH and of course more AR's.

Like you - I do love me some heavy barrels. :)

Least favorite (and least accurate) ones I have are the gov profile crap...

My 16" bull barrels clock in at 3lbs. (just the barrels) LOL!

For 16" medium contour barrels, I've had pretty good luck with BRT's MPR barrel and Sionic's med-con barrel.

I agree with one of ColtSeavers selections, the GM-M8:

Green Mountain produces solid barrels.

All mine have a profile the same as the left one.

Ordered two of these^^^^^^^^^^^

Green mountain makes the barrels used in my superbly accurate Knight Inline muzzleoaders.
