Anybody ever heard of an AR based 12 guage shotgun? If so where do I get one?

Google "USAS-12" or "WM-12" and you'll find some good info.

The USAS-12 is a semi- and automatic shotgun made in Korea by Daewoo Precision Industries. I've never actually seen one, but I know they exist. There are none in the US, thanks to the BATF. However, Ameetec Arms previously of Scottsdale, AZ manufactured a few based on the USAS-12's design and marketed them in the US unsuccessfully. Good luck finding one...as I hear, they're extremely rare.

Probably either talking about the AA12 or Usas12 http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/62/USAS12shotgun4104.jpg Image from Wiki article on USAS12.

It isn't really AR based. The AA12 is it's own beastie and the USAS12 is based on the AA12.

Now if the question was AK based, that'd be the Saiga 12, which is readily available, civilian legal, for the moment.

I've never heard of a 12ga, but there is a .410 Safir Arms T-14

Agreed. The Saiga is a much prettier shotgun & though I am a .308 owner, the Saiga 12 owners seem enthralled.

Funny thing, I was debating either picking up my 1st AR or a Saiga 12 and another revolver. I opted for the AR as I figure it'll be easier for me to raise the cash for a Saiga 12 if a ban seems imminent.

The AR10 magwell seems like it would be big enough to hold a magazine with 12ga rounds in it. I'd love to have a 12ga AR10 instead of my Tromixed Saiga.

What did Tony do for you and would you be thinking of thinning your herd in the next few months?;);)

Dell GX280, the shotgun you are referring to is this one.

I have a Saiga-12 and have a love/hate relationship with it.

Personally I think a belt-bed 12ga AR upper would be perfect :D

Don't forget the SPAS-15 by Franchi.

It isn't really AR based. The AA12 is it's own beastie and the USAS12 is based on the AA12.

But clearly inspired by the M16/AR15 design...
