Used Razor HD 5-20 or Used T5xi 5-25?

I built a 20” AR308 that I need to find glass for. I plan to shoot out to 500 yards regularly, and push out to 1000 yards if the occasion presents itself. I’ve found a couple used optics locally that might work for this, and I was hoping for your input. The options are:


1.) Steiner T5xi 5-25 (with Steiner one piece mount) priced at $1300


2.) Vortex Razor gen 1 5-20 (no mount) priced at $1050


What do you all think? Both seem to be priced well, and both are enough glass to get me out to the distances I’d like to shoot out to. Of the two options which would be the most durable?

Vortex, because (1) lower price, (2) best warranty, and (3) no known issues with that model. A mount for the Razor should be less than the $250 diff.

The T5xi had a very rough start, and for a time Steiner's warranty service was iffy. Both of those are supposed to be fixed, but the Razor is excellent with no worries.
