Looking to slowly build, what do you recommend? Most likely not going class 3, don't want to spend the extra cash on stamps..

Will need to start with lower parts.. Trigger, springs n dooohickeys..

They are nice. I am just finishing up a build on one of their Infidel lowers I got just before they bumped up their prices. They are nice receivers, rock solid fit with my LMT upper.

Since you're building it slowly, keep an eye out on when Grant's LPK is back in stock at G&R Tactical to check that first square in your build box. Hopefully in the next month as I've got one to build! :D

Yes, but they are getting scarce. Someone posted a link to a source a few days ago. The way things are going though, they are probably sold out by now. :(

Here is the link.

Is the THUG 00000 something that Spikes is doing?

This is from the horse's mouth...

SAR stands for Spike's Automatic Rifle or Spike's Assault Rifle.
THUG is an inside joke w/ some local LEO friends.

I'm not buying a thing until this Tardfest of panic buying is long over.

LOL.

As an aside, I picked up ten Spike's lowers (without the pretty selector paint job) for $110 apiece before the election.

So I'm also in the same situation as the OP... I've ordered Gran'ts LPK's ... I just have to pick out some uppers. I've already decided on Magpul PRS stocks (I live behind enemy lines and have to configure them as post-ban guns with limited evil features).

What I struggle with in completing this project is the economics of buying complete uppers vs. buying the separate parts I want and assembling them myself.

Strangely enough, even with the panic buying, it appears to be cheaper to buy the complete uppers.
