With all due respect, no offense, what is the TV mod going to do to either one of them? ban them :) give them infractions? Trump is going to be Trump or maybe that's their strategy to frustrate sleazy Joe.

I agree, it's a cluster fruck. It's WWE with suits and podiums.

What a train wreck. It’s hard to watch.

Trump is really shooting himself in the foot by constantly interrupting. He has no decorum. It makes him look terrible.

If he kept his mouth shut and gave the question good Trumpy answers he’d look like a star compared to the bumbling idiot Biden is. Biden just spouts off little mesmerized lines.

I think just about everyone has decided who they're voting for by now. I agree that this would be an easy win for the GOP in November if Trump had even an ounce of class. That's the only thing that's giving Middle America pause about who's the lesser of two evils. He's not helping himself, but Joe isn't coming off as smooth and presidential either, so I don't know if tonight will help or hurt either one of them.

Agree. He doesn't have to convince us, we're already on his side.

The problem is he has to convince people who are on the fence. I can't see this doing that. He's reverting to his buffoonish self under pressure and it doesn't come across as classy, professional, or inspiring. It certainly isn't going to convince anybody who's unconvinced.

Trump was elected to fight and ultimately eliminate the deep State. We elected someone from outside of the system to fight the system. Biden is a professional political hack who has been a fixture in that corrupt system. We elected a rough and raw New York real estate developer, not a polished politician with a toothy grin like a TV Game show host. Our champion in 2016 could have been a steel worker or the owner of a septic tank business. It's non-politician versus dirt bag political hack - It's raw and unpolished outsider versus swamp dweller. It's OK.

I think it's safe to say that no one really expected Biden to be the bright brilliant star of the show going into this, so his performance was of no surprise to anyone.

This debate really was Trumps to lose.

With that said, Trump didn't seem nearly as calculated in his responses as I'd have expected him to be. He interrupted Biden often, but didn't hit him nearly as hard as he should have. Very little mention of Biden's many racial comments, no major quotes from the radical leftists that Biden supports, no real mention of Obama and Biden's horrible foreign policy decisions, etc.. There were no "You'd be in jail" moments in this debate.

This debate likely didn't change anyone's opinion.. but Trumps inability to make the punches count certainly didn't gain him ground.

I'm actually surprised at how well Biden held back, despite his obvious frustration. I don't think Trump expected Biden to weather the abuse as well as he did.. which was all Biden really needed to do.

I'm still voting Trump regardless of these debates but.. I'm just calling it as I see it.

He needs to do much better in the next debate.

Trump interrupted far too much and should have let China Joe talk himself into a corner. It didn't help that Wallace was chosen to be the moderator, but Trump knew what to expect from him going into the debate.

China Joe was lying all night, which was obvious to anyone paying attention. Biden also sounded like a walking Democrat talking point.

Trump got out some good information for people not paying attention, but his demeanor may have turned some pussies off.

I can't argue too much calling it a draw, but thought Trump squeaked out a victory in the end.

Trump can't be out of the spotlight for more than 5 seconds. If he were around people immolating themselves, he grab a gas can to get in on it.

It was like two old guys trying to whip each other with a cooked spaghetti noodle.

Biden's worst enemy is Biden, Trump's worst enemy is himself. The bums rush Trump gave him to start was OK, get Biden off base and tempo, but Trump should have STFU.

The biggest mistake by Trump's side was 90 minutes. They should have pushed for 3 hours, or at least 2 hours. Biden was fading fast there at the end.

Just a few hours of debate prep for some good stock one liners or points and Trump could have carried the day. A direct way to reframe Charlottesville, Floyd, and Russia-gate, but nooooo some old semi-coherent answers. If he had any discipline at all he would be lethal, to other people, not just himself. Biden suffers from elder abuse, Trump just abuses himself.

Biden called the sitting POTUS a 'clown' to his face on national TV. What a sad day.

I don't think this debate changes the minds of most people that tuned in. I think for the the remaining portion, they are just generally confused and even if they make a decision, they will not really understand why they made that decision.

While I will vote for Trump based on judicial nominees, I find both of them annoying. Trump is abrasive when he doesnt have to be and Biden is a life long politician

As for how this plays out, I think maybe net Trump,

This is 100% correct. This is the main reason why I like Trump as President. He doesn't pull punches and is alot smarter about what he does than people give him credit for. Even though it was chaos, I think Trump drank Biden's milkshake last night. Just looking at Biden, he physically looks sick with one foot in the grave. And I think there is something to the accusations that Biden was pumped full of something to give him the stamina to make it though the debate without his requested breaks every 30 minutes. That request in itself was telling as to Biden's physical and mental state.

I've had the night to let the "debate" marinade in my mind overnight. I get the impression that many Trump supporters have wanted him to become more presidential, and let the office and system mold him into something more genteel and statesman like. That hasn't happened. There are many Republicans who cringe every time the President speaks or tweets, begging him to tone it down and try to fit in to that D.C. crowd.

Then there's Betty Jo Van Dusen, soccer mom, PTA board member, and generally nice suburban dweller in Gwinnett County, Georgia. Betty Jo has to mute the TV or turn the channel to the Food Network every time the President appears because bad Orange Man upsets her delicate constitution and is a bad example for little Jimmy and Susie. Betty Jo Van Dusen is the type of voter who would select a Socialist because of style, not substance. There are millions of these type of voters out there, and they will sell out you and me, and the rest of the Country because they have no concern for what is really going on.

Based on what I heard last night, it's possible we just might lose this election, and instead of Uncle Sam, we get Uncle Joe (as in Joe Stalin). Biden won't deny that the devilcrats plan to pack the Supreme Court, raise taxes to confiscatory levels, and take your guns. I think we are at the beginning of a new dark age in America. Get ready to hide your guns and plan to hide your money. For those of us self-employed, hiding money is easy. If you're a salaried or hourly employee, that's gonna be tough.

I did not watch it. We all knew how it was going to go down, and we all know there are no undecideds any more. There are people who will vote for Biden simply to 'not vote' for Trump; or, who simply won't vote at all. This is where Trump will lose the election. I am hopeful, just barely, that the pro-Trump folks are staying underground until Nov 3 and not taking the bait of polling and will crush the Nov 3 polls en masse.

I watched the entire thing - start to finish. I wanted to see everything, good or bad. Information is power and I gain knowledge by watching what the enemy says and does, and I gain information by watching how our own side does. We are in the early stages of a cultural and social civil war, and I have read the comments by many online who say the same thing - "I turned it off after a few minutes". Why?

Not that I'm directing this at AndyLate, but many on our side take a haughty tone and virtue signal that this sort of "debate" is beneath their elevated concept of political behavior. We are in a real nasty fight for America, and we either fight now with words and votes, or we'll be fighting with bullets and other forms of destruction.

yeap, he couldn't complete sentences, changed his "train" of though midway between statements, apparently looked down at a sheet with prepared notes and stumbled quite a bit. Something is obviously up with him. I guess you could say that Democrats are guilty of elder abuse. They are using him knowing that he will not last past a few months as president and that Harris will take over and put a commie agenda into place.

Trump could have annihilated Biden on the crime Bill (racism), the economy, extortion of the Ukrainian government, we have you bragging about it on video Joe. We have it on video. And he wants to talk about what the Obama administration built? Joe, did you sleep for 8 years? How can you say any of that with a straight face? Biden can probably sell the shit out of used cars.....

I can get past the lack of decorum, because it's Trump. If he rises above the occasion, I'm pleasantly surprised. If not, it doesn't really change anything for me. However, it was totally unacceptable to me how he whiffed on numerous softballs that Biden teed up for him. Trump's style is his greatest strength and weakness. If he'd taken a god damn note during the entire thing to recall some of the gibberish Joe said, it would've been a home run of a debate. It's hard to take notes when you're interrupting, though. Just needle Biden and let him dig himself into a hole - it was counterproductive to go at him that hard.

I've had the night to let the "debate" marinade in my mind overnight. I get the impression that many Trump supporters have wanted him to become more presidential, and let the office and system mold him into something more genteel and statesman like. That hasn't happened. There are many Republicans who cringe every time the President speaks or tweets, begging him to tone it down and try to fit in to that D.C. crowd.

Of course, a lot will depend on the Senate. Things are up in the air with that, but if the GOP holds it, Biden/Harris will only be able to do minimal damage. Packing the court will be out of the question for at least two years.

Trump is a fighter, but he swings wildly, gets gassed and ends up hitting himself.

I’ve been in sales and marketing for 20 years and you know what is the hardest thing to do? Make your point, and then STFU and let the other side talk itself into a mistake. People hate silence, and it takes YUGE self control not to let the other side off by talking and saving them. Trump can’t do that . Most NYC assholes can’t.

When Wallace swept in to save Biden, Trump should have said “Shhhhhhh,shh,shhh- Mike, he’s a big boy, let him answer.” Instead Trump gave them verbal camouflage to sneak away.

This was his chance to show that he is a rational leader, and he failed. Being behind, he could have won the race last night- instead he cemented the charactature, luckily Biden didn’t fare much better.

Trump has faced in these presidential elections two of the Democrats weakest candidates and for some reason he won’t put in the effort to actually knock them out. I’m starting to think Trump doesn’t want to win Bigley, because he is too addicted to the chaos of a tight race. Bill Clinton would have cleaned his clock.

I'm just gonna drop one observation...

Joe Biden tacitly if not actively supports people who literally WANT ME (and most of this site) DEAD, and actively seeks to deprive us of means to resist these human predators. Donald Trump wants to make life harder for said predators, and is at least lukewarm on Hardware Issues.

U.S.—Millions of Americans tuned in Tuesday night to finally see President Trump and Joe Biden debate on stage. And the reaction was pure excitement.

“Wow! They both did so great!” said Felicia Burns, a nurse who watched from home. “One of those two will be running the country for the next four years? How can you not be optimistic?”

Everett Carter, a mechanic, agreed. “They both came off as very old,” Carter stated. “I mean just think of the knowledge and experience of those two. And Biden has been in government for 47 years -- he must know how to do everything. Trump was so combative -- that guy has so much enthusiasm and energy. They’re both just awesome.”

A poll conducted right after the debate had a full 98% of people unable to pick a winner because both candidates did such a great job addressing all the concerns of the American people.

Everything Trump had said, especially the way he said it, felt like a long overdue verbal dump. The subjects have been played down for years by the media or the D's have looked the other way on. Trump finally had an audience that really encompassed the left, right and middle. He took every opportunity to drop info and call out Biden's views and history.

Wallace was awful. It felt like it was him and Biden versus Trump. Every time I expected Trump to get his turn for a rebuttal, Wallace just ignored it and moved on.

Now I'm hearing they are talking about changing the debate rules for the next round. The next moderator may have the ability to cut the mic of a certain debater "if needed". If they push on with a change like that to the debates, combined with obviously biased moderators, I think last night will look like a warm up compared to what's to come.

The other candidate will hear it, and that is all that matters. Trump interruptions threw Biden off his train of thought nearly every time. Whether I heard it on TV or not would not change this.

The mistake was allowing 2 minutes to respond and thinking neither candidate would interrupt the other. Should have been 30 seconds max.

My comment was general and not directed at anyone. Please realize that during my two primary careers, I have run with a more edgy crowd. People who say very little but when they make a statement, it's either with a harsh word or some form of violence. Whether it's Army Rangers, Delta or a crew of ranch hands hitting town after a month in the saddle riding herd. People like President Trump are a good fit for my personality. He's someone itching to get into a fight when he knows he's in the right. Last night there was nothing he said that wasn't true, and every bit of of it was in the best interest of the American people. I'd love to meet the Man.

No, the moderator asks the questions, the first allowed to respond has 2 minutes to speak, his mike is on, the other guys mike is off, then at the end of the 2 minutes, the second guy gets his 2 minutes of hot mike while the first guys mike is off. Repeat for however many cycles you wish, but the moderator is not allowed to give either debater more, or less time.

I’m going to disagree with all the pessimism.

I watched the whole debate last night. I laughed my ass off, that was exactly what I expected. Trump acting like a rabid Wookie fighting with the moderator, and attacking Joe Biden holding nothing back. Getting personal, just like a Democrat would. I would hammer Biden on ANTIFA and his coke head grifter son every time I was in the same room.

I hope to see two more Trump attack sessions, but Lord Cheeto the Vulgar needs to study his and Sleepy Joe’s performance and work on his timing. Attacking is good, getting personal and nasty is good because Biden deserves it. Trump just needs to let his jabs land and sink in, stop talking, make Biden respond, make Biden embarrass himself either with silence or tripping over his own words.

Trump also needs to call out the moderators even more for taking sides. He’s at his best fighting with the scum that are our press. Do it more, go after them when they allow Biden to dodge or when they help prompt Biden.

We need somebody with a loud mouth to sound the alarm that the US is on the verge of a slide into totalitarian Marxism. It doesn't seem that reasoned conversation and intellectual oratory has gotten the point across to the American people. The economy will tank, we’ll be paying taxes through the nose and we won’t be shopping at the grocery store. We’ll be roasting rats and squirrels over the fire.

I think it’s even more important to beat Biden than it was to beat the witch.

Back in 2016 it was popular to call it the "Flight 93 election." And that was true. The problem is, from 2016 until the Marxist/globalist types are defeated, if ever, EVERY election is a "Flight 93 election," and the odds get worse for us each and every time. I hope Trump wins and I hope we don't have CW2 the week afterward, but even if all those good things happen - 2022 is another chance to lose all of Congress, 2024 is another chance to have a Marxist in the White House, etc. etc. etc. It doesn't end, unless something happens to make it end.

Not trying to be a downer. Ignore this - go relax, go out to the bar, drink some beers while you watch a nice NFL or NBA game, forget politics. (Sarcasm intended.)

I say we just pay someone off to tell Joe he's the moderator right before he's walked onto stage for the next debate.

It'd be great to watch him walk out from the stage, down to the moderators chair where he'd push the other idiot out of his/her spot. He'd then sit there patiently waiting for the missing presidential candidate to show up.

I thought they both landed some blows that will excite their base, Biden’s biggest hit was on Trumps tax return ( why can’t he just release them and shut the com/dems up )Trump Landed IMO the biggest blow at the end by getting Biden to say the oil industry pollutes and he wants to replace it. Trumps response “did you hear that Texas, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma?” I think was the grand slam.

She did try to cut him off, but I don't think it was necessarily to shut him up. The time was the "reason" for it and Trump still was able to make his points.

Overall, Biden lost the oil and gas industry tonight, the industries that support them and really didn't field the 94 crime bill questions very well.

Trump straight murdered him the last half hour or so of the debate.

biggest takeaway that I saw, Biden threw down the gauntlet on the Hunter-Chine-Ukraine connection tonight. He's daring people to dig into it. Whether or not the media other than Fox will take that challenge, I don't know, but he pretty much set himself up to get hammered if anyone actually wants to be a journalist and follow it up.

45 minutes in, I told my wife that the moderator tripped Joe up. I agree Trump was eating his lunch at the end.

The look on Donna Brazile's face made me think that Trump came out looking pretty good. No doubt the MSM talking heads are patting themselves on the back over Biden's victorious debate, of course.

Yes, of course. New Democrat voters can't possibly be turned away, comrade.

People seem to think the moderator did well. I disagree. I'm certainly not Trumps biggest fan, but he did very well this time around. The moderator very clearly wanted to give Joe every possible opportunity to respond to Trump, but attempted to move on when the roles were reversed. She also purposely tried to take Trumps statement about the effects COVID has on children and turn it against him. I don't seem to remember her doing the same with Biden. She was sure to bring up Russian interference in our election though, while completely ignoring the recent Hunter/Joe information completely.

Yeah, she was the shinning example of unbiased. Please.

Yes, in fairness to Biden (oh how I hate to defend him...) he is a stutterer and has had to overcome that his entire life.

I know a guy with Tourette Syndrome, coworker of mine, he normally has it completely under control but when he is tired and we’re working short on rest he develops ticks. Joe does OK when he’s awake or has energy but when he gets tired he can’t control his stuttering as well, takes concentration that’s tough when you’re almost 80 years old and it’s past bedtime.

He’s not cognitively there anymore, and he was never sharp to begin with. Hell he forgot who Mitt Romney was, although again (hate to defend him) Romney is one of the most forgettable humans to ever walk the Earth.

I'm not sure how much more watered down that question could have been though. I'd have preferred something more like "Mr. Biden, have you yourself ever received foreign money through your sons business dealings with foreign corporations or foreign government entities?" Or something similar.

The Democrats always seem to get questions they can easily slip out of.

The only blow I think Trump took tonight was in regards to his taxes, but if I'm being honest I couldn't care less as it's not required for him to give that information. I'm sure it will sit uneasy with others though.

I'm not buying the stutter story. I'm no doctor and maybe I'm wrong but to me stuttering is when the person can't get the one word out. Not when they start jumping around different words and meanings or even nonsense all together. And wouldn't this have shown up before?

I didn't watch. Was planning to but the pre debate show coverage thing pissed me off. It was obvious someone from the Biden team asked for certain things to be said. This way it's already in the viewers heads before the debate even starts. I think I need to go buy a "scary black rifle" to comfort me. It's my safe space!

Exactly, he's on the ropes. Kamala and Barry are out there on the campaign trail for him while he sits in the basement at home.
I think we are looking at Joe having about six good months left, honestly, I think Biden is on his last leg and limping on that one.

Trump tried to explain the taxes and did a halfway decent job. The problem is the average non-business owning American can't even conceive prepayment of taxes, much less the concept of "Alternative Minimum Tax".

From the very article the NYT used to weaponize the illegally obtained tax records they colluded to get with partisan political operatives within DoJ's SDNY to steal:

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/09/27/us/donald-trump-taxes.html

Mr. Trump paid alternative minimum tax in seven years between 2000 and 2017 — a total of $24.3 million, excluding refunds he received after filing. For 2015, he paid $641,931, his first payment of any federal income tax since 2010.

As he settled into the Oval Office, his tax bills soon returned to form. His potential taxable income in 2016 and 2017 included $24.8 million in profits from sources related to his celebrity status and $56.4 million for the loans he did not repay. The dreaded alternative minimum tax would let his business losses erase only some of his liability.

Each time, he requested an extension to file his 1040; and each time, he made the required payment to the I.R.S. for income taxes he might owe — $1 million for 2016 and $4.2 million for 2017. But virtually all of that liability was washed away when he eventually filed, and most of the payments were rolled forward to cover potential taxes in future years.

To cancel out the tax bills, Mr. Trump made use of $9.7 million in business investment credits, at least some of which related to his renovation of the Old Post Office hotel, which qualified for a historic-preservation tax break. Although he had more than enough credits to owe no taxes at all, his accountants appear to have carved out an allowance for a small tax liability for both 2016 and 2017.

When they got to line 56, the one for income taxes due, the amount was the same each year: $750.

So even if your eyes didn't glaze over after reading the Three Thousand Nine Hundred and Ninety Four words in the NYT article before we get to that deeply buried headline, will you really even understand what happened? The entire article is just a couple hundred words shy of ten thousand. I'll confess, I didn't read it all. I couldn't even on my sharpest day. I'm not a tax accountant or tax attorney. The material is as dry as the Gobi desert. If you can read the entire 10K word article and come away with anything but a numb brain, you're far more tolerant of tedium than I.

And that's exactly what the NYT and other Biden acolytes count on. People can't even begin to comprehend a system requiring an accounting degree to even partially grasp. But they can grasp "HE ONLY PAID $750 IN INCOME TAX!!!". Well yes, if you studiously avoid every other fact and data point in that 10K word article. If you actually read and understood the whole article, you'd know the punch line is the least relevant part of the story.

I mean if you want to make hay out of Trump's tax strategy and how he pays more net taxes in China than the US, the obvious problem is the US tax code itself, promulgated by decades of politicians in DC to benefit their benefactors. Now who's been there doing that for 47 years?
