I've been looking around the internet for a good hard case in which I could "mold" the foam around my rifle and extra parts.

This is taken from the AR pics thread..

Here's a couple pics showing some of the stuff.

And the dedicated NV 556 upper with the 9mm all in one kit.

This is what i'm looking for and was wondering if anyone had any information on where I might be able to find a case like this.

Thanks in advance for any info!! :D

There are a few vendors on ebay that sell the 17XX line of Pelican Rifle cases for anywhere between 140-211.00.

I have only seen black and tan as color options.

I know there are a few foam companies where the foam is formed in pull away block sections so no cutting is required.

I have always been a soft sided case guy, but I dont have anything more than a few aimpoints I am worried about when it comes to transport.

I dont travel with my AR's through airports and such, so I haven't had the need....

Dies to cut foam that way are expensive. That's why you typically see them in military formats.

For the money, I would go with a Hardigg StormCase and I would live with hand cutting the foam. Pick'n'Pluck foam is an option for people as well.

Those are Pelican brand cases. I have one that I still haven't gotten around to cutting out.

Those are also both amateur cut jobs as you can tell if you look closely at them. I'm sure mine will look even more hacked up when I am done.

Tips:
1) Freeze the foam first as it makes it easier to cut.
2) Buy an electric carving knife to make the cuts with
-or-
3) Buy or build one of these (http://www.foamnetwork.com/demandproducts/cart/indexoriginalhotknife.html)

I was looking for more of the "pick'n'pluck" style, the kind of foam that comes cut up into little squares that you just pull out. I think that would work the best especially for when I get all the little extras I want to carry around with me.
