I can’t seem to find the LMT rears in stock for my MK18 Mod 0 build, but I’ve got some colt carry handles I could chop down. Are these correct? I’ve heard yes but never seen a picture of a chopped carry handle in actual use.

"Sights: Initially, detachable carrying handles cut down so that only the rear sight assembly was used. However, most of these have been replaced with the similar, commercially-made Lewis Machine & Tool adjustable rear sight. Also used are several types of reflex and magnified optics, most commonly seen is the Aimpoint CompM2 in a Wilcox Industries Corp. Picatinny (MIL-STD-1913) mount. On the Mod 1, the front sight is deleted and a full-length accessory rail is used; flip up iron sights may be mounted per user preferences."

I have read & heard LMT no longer makes those rears. Ive not seen them in stock for a long time now.

The only major difference between the 2 will be the later production LMT's have an aluminum base instead of steel. That's really going to be the only difference between LMT and any quality(aka not Chinese) copy as well.

Shark should still have those LMT rear sights in stock.

Love mine.Yeesh! I almost sold mine for $100 to a friend lol. I never used it. I'm going to hold onto it for a while.

Shark Arms sometimes sells knock off crap from China, so you have to read their descriptions, but this one is actual LMT.

I believe this is a cut down carry handle. Kyle DeFoor during Operation Anaconda.

I'm not sure, it could be old stock laying around at Shark. I have no idea, but fixed rear sights aren't all that popular anymore, so I wouldn't be shocked if LMT quit making them, or slowed down production cycles to once a year or something similar.

I actually ended up finding two used LMT sights here on the EE so it worked out ok for me. I only needed one but if they’re discontinued then I figured why not grab both. It’s too bad if they stopped making them, I’m sure that’ll make the next guys clone that much harder to pull off.

They’re shown as out of stock, not discontinued on the LMT site.

Literally just called LMT & got the skinny:
They have NOT discontinued them.."way behind production" at the moment..when they do start up its 100-200 units or so at a time.
Brownells is about to get a big shipment of them in.
So, thats THE word from LMT.

I have the set (front and rear) LMT sights that came with my MWS. Rear sight is on a different rifle. Front sight is in the spare parts box.
