View Full Version : Will Biden have a Mandate to ban and perhaps confiscate our rifles?

Because Biden is ahead in the polls, I started to think about what a Biden administration would do to civilian gun rights. I scares me that he's made a promise to "take away" our "AR14s".

If he wins he will have won on a platform of "assault weapon" bans and confiscation. Let alone all the other really bad ideas like the Green New Deal. Which doesn't sound like a deal for anyone except China, and the rich who invested in "green" industries, since energy costs will skyrocket.

And Harris, OMG!

When a President makes a promise they often feel they have a mandate. If we have, god forbid, a Biden with the left controlling the 2 houses. How many think we will be able to pass our guns on to our kids?

I am very pessimistic right now.

He didn't promise to confiscate weapons, just to ban their further sale. However, if it goes to the SCOTUS with Barrett on the bench, there's a decent chance that would be overturned anyway.

Also, I don't trust the polls. They are always skewed liberal.

Well there you going...no confiscation. You can sell it to the gov't or register under the NFA. Of course, the Red Flag Laws will be administered most justly and fairly. And when they are registered that of course will never lead to confiscation. You see AW's in California have been registered for 20 yrs now and nobody is confiscating those. On the other hand if I stay here and die my wife or kids have to turn them in or sell them out of state, but if Joe gets his way there is no out state to sell them in. If they get the power they will go for the guns.

I know that confiscation is coming at some point. I'm just saying that he didn't as far as Beto or Swalwell and promise to make it top priority. It WILL be near the top, no doubt, but I wouldn't count on the FBI and ATF kicking down doors by the middle of next year if Biden gets elected.

Also, it's possible that, even if everything is lost, that one of the challenges to state bans makes it to the SC and overturned before they get a chance to pack the court.

I'll be 61 in February. A Biden/Harris administration will certainly claim a mandate, and everything they have promised, you can bet they will try. Just be ready for the new dark age and an underground gun economy. Prohibition all over again, except in this time its guns.

In all fairness, Biden said he was going to put Beto in charge of gun policy.

Since the SC appears to actively avoid 2nd Amendment cases, we probably should not count on them.

Now we are finding out the entire Obama Administration knew about Hillary's plan to sabotage Trump with the dossier.
The numbers who died from Corona are being weighed heavy and they aren't even trying to hide that anymore. Heart failure + a positive corona test the odds are it's being labeled "Corona".

Check out this stuff in bold.

This is literally a collection of the worst possible liberal ideas floated in the last 30 years.

People need to read and understand the intentions of the dark side.

They know it is a hot button topic with middle America and that is precisely WHY they aren't talking about.

Just because they aren't talking about it, doesn't mean they don't plan on it.

THE BIDEN PLAN TO END OUR GUN VIOLENCE EPIDEMIC
Joe Biden knows that gun violence is a public health epidemic. Almost 40,000 people die as a result of firearm injuries every year in the United States, and many more are wounded. Some of these deaths and injuries are the result of mass shootings that make national headlines. Others are the result of daily acts of gun violence or suicides that may not make national headlines, but are just as devastating to the families and communities left behind.

Joe Biden has taken on the National Rifle Association (NRA) on the national stage and won – twice. In 1993, he shepherded through Congress the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act, which established the background check system that has since kept more than 3 million firearms out of dangerous hands. In 1994, Biden – along with Senator Dianne Feinstein – secured the passage of 10-year bans on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. As president, Joe Biden will defeat the NRA again.

Joe Biden also knows how to make progress on reducing gun violence using executive action. After the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012, President Obama tasked Vice President Biden with developing both legislative proposals and executive actions to make our communities safer. As a result of this effort, the Obama-Biden Administration took more than two dozen actions, including narrowing the so-called “gun show loophole,” increasing the number of records in the background check system, and expanding funding for mental health services.

It’s within our grasp to end our gun violence epidemic and respect the Second Amendment, which is limited. As president, Biden will pursue constitutional, common-sense gun safety policies. Biden will:

Hold gun manufacturers accountable. In 2005, then-Senator Biden voted against the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, but gun manufacturers successfully lobbied Congress to secure its passage. This law protects these manufacturers from being held civilly liable for their products – a protection granted to no other industry. Biden will prioritize repealing this protection.

Get weapons of war off our streets. The bans on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines that Biden, along with Senator Feinstein, secured in 1994 reduced the lethality of mass shootings. But, in order to secure the passage of the bans, they had to agree to a 10-year sunset provision and when the time came, the Bush Administration failed to extend them. As president, Biden will:

Ban the manufacture and sale of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. Federal law prevents hunters from hunting migratory game birds with more than three shells in their shotgun. That means our federal law does more to protect ducks than children. It’s wrong. Joe Biden will enact legislation to once again ban assault weapons. This time, the bans will be designed based on lessons learned from the 1994 bans. For example, the ban on assault weapons will be designed to prevent manufacturers from circumventing the law by making minor changes that don’t limit the weapon’s lethality. While working to pass this legislation, Biden will also use his executive authority to ban the importation of assault weapons.

Regulate possession of existing assault weapons under the National Firearms Act. Currently, the National Firearms Act requires individuals possessing machine-guns, silencers, and short-barreled rifles to undergo a background check and register those weapons with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). Due to these requirements, such weapons are rarely used in crimes. As president, Biden will pursue legislation to regulate possession of existing assault weapons under the National Firearms Act.
Buy back the assault weapons and high-capacity magazines already in our communities. Biden will also institute a program to buy back weapons of war currently on our streets. This will give individuals who now possess assault weapons or high-capacity magazines two options: sell the weapons to the government, or register them under the National Firearms Act.
Reduce stockpiling of weapons. In order to reduce the stockpiling of firearms, Biden supports legislation restricting the number of firearms an individual may purchase per month to one.
Keep guns out of dangerous hands. The federal background check system (the National Instant Criminal Background Check System) is one of the best tools we have to prevent gun violence, but it’s only effective when it’s used. Biden will enact universal background check legislation and close other loopholes that allow people who should be prohibited from purchasing firearms from making those purchases. Specifically, he will:

Require background checks for all gun sales. Today, an estimated 1 in 5 firearms are sold or transferred without a background check. Biden will enact universal background check legislation, requiring a background check for all gun sales with very limited exceptions, such as gifts between close family members. This will close the so-called “gun show and online sales loophole” that the Obama-Biden Administration narrowed, but which cannot be fully closed by executive action alone.

Close other loopholes in the federal background check system. In addition to closing the “boyfriend loophole” highlighted below, Biden will:

Reinstate the Obama-Biden policy to keep guns out of the hands of certain people unable to manage their affairs for mental reasons, which President Trump reversed. In 2016, the Obama-Biden Administration finalized a rule to make sure the Social Security Administration (SSA) sends to the background check system records that it holds of individuals who are prohibited from purchasing or possessing firearms because they have been adjudicated by the SSA as unable to manage their affairs for mental reasons. But one of the first actions Donald Trump took as president was to reverse this rule. President Biden will enact legislation to codify this policy.

Close the “hate crime loophole.” Biden will enact legislation prohibiting an individual “who has been convicted of a misdemeanor hate crime, or received an enhanced sentence for a misdemeanor because of hate or bias in its commission” from purchasing or possessing a firearm.

Close the “Charleston loophole.” The Charleston loophole allows people to complete a firearms purchase if their background check is not completed within three business days. Biden supports the proposal in the Enhanced Background Checks Act of 2019, which extends the timeline from three to 10 business days. Biden will also direct the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to put on his desk within his first 100 days as president a report detailing the cases in which background checks are not completed within 10 business days and steps the federal government can take to reduce or eliminate this occurrence.

Close the “fugitive from justice” loophole created by the Trump Administration. Because of actions by the Trump Administration, records of almost 500,000 fugitives from justice who are prohibited from purchasing firearms were deleted from the background check system. The Biden Administration will restore these records, and enact legislation to make clear that people facing arrest warrants are prohibited from purchasing or possessing firearms.

End the online sale of firearms and ammunitions. Biden will enact legislation to prohibit all online sales of firearms, ammunition, kits, and gun parts.

Create an effective program to ensure individuals who become prohibited from possessing firearms relinquish their weapons. Federal law defines categories of individuals who are prohibited from purchasing or possessing firearms, and the federal background check system is an effective tool for ensuring prohibited persons cannot purchase firearms. But we lack any serious tool to ensure that when someone becomes newly prohibited – for example, because they commit a violent crime – they relinquish possession of their firearms. There are some promising models for how this could be enforced. For example, California has a mandatory process for ensuring relinquishment by any individual newly subject to a domestic violence restraining order. As president, Biden will direct the FBI and ATF to outline a model relinquishment process, enact any necessary legislation to ensure relinquishment when individuals newly fall under one of the federal prohibitions, and then provide technical and financial assistance to state and local governments to establish effective relinquishment processes on their own.

Incentivize state “extreme risk” laws. Extreme risk laws, also called “red flag” laws, enable family members or law enforcement officials to temporarily remove an individual’s access to firearms when that individual is in crisis and poses a danger to themselves or others. Biden will incentivize the adoption of these laws by giving states funds to implement them. And, he’ll direct the U.S. Department of Justice to issue best practices and offer technical assistance to states interested in enacting an extreme risk law.

Give states incentives to set up gun licensing programs. Biden will enact legislation to give states and local governments grants to require individuals to obtain a license prior to purchasing a gun.

Adequately fund the background check system. President Obama and Vice President Biden expanded incentives for states to submit records of prohibited persons into the background checks system. As president, Biden will continue to prioritize that funding and ensure that the FBI is adequately funded to accurately and efficiently handle the NICS system.

ADDRESSING THE DEADLY COMBINATION OF GUNS AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
The statistics tell a devastating and overwhelming story. The likelihood that a woman in a domestic violence situation will be killed increases by a factor of five if a gun is nearby. Half of mass shootings involve an individual shooting a family member or former intimate partner. This deadly connection tragically impacts children as well: 86% of children killed in shootings with four or more victims were involved in domestic or family violence.

Biden recognizes that the gun violence and domestic violence epidemics are linked and cannot be solved in isolation. Addressing the interconnectedness of these challenges will be a core focus of Biden’s anti-violence work as president.

The Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2019, which Leader McConnell refuses to bring to the floor for a vote, includes a number of reforms to keep firearms out of the hands of abusers. Senator McConnell should ensure this legislation gets passed long before President Biden would take the oath of office. But if McConnell refuses to act, Biden will enact legislation to close the so-called “boyfriend loophole” and “stalking loophole” by prohibiting all individuals convicted of assault, battery, or stalking from purchasing or possessing firearms, regardless of their connection to the victim. This proposal is modeled after existing laws in California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York, and Pennsylvania. Biden also supports enacting the proposal to prohibit anyone under a temporary restraining order from purchasing or possessing a firearm before their hearing.

In addition, President Biden will:

Establish a new Task Force on Online Harassment and Abuse to focus on the connection between mass shootings, online harassment, extremism, and violence against women. As President, Joe Biden will convene a national Task Force with federal agencies, state leaders, advocates, law enforcement, and technology experts to study rampant online sexual harassment, stalking, and threats, including revenge porn and deepfakes — and the connection between this harassment, mass shootings, extremism and violence against women. The Task Force will be charged with developing cutting-edge strategies and recommendations for how federal and state governments, social media companies, schools, and other public and private entities can tackle this unique challenge. The Task Force will consider platform accountability, transparent reporting requirements for incidents of harassment and response, and best practices.

Expand the use of evidence-based lethality assessments by law enforcement in cases of domestic violence. Lethality assessments, sometimes called “risk” or “danger” assessments, are a proven strategy to help law enforcement officers identify domestic violence survivors who are at high risk of being killed by their abusers. These survivors are then connected with social service programs that can offer services and safety planning. An evaluation of the Lethality Assessment Program (LEP) created by the Maryland Network Against Domestic Violence showed promising results. Increased federal funding will incentivize jurisdictions to take advantage of implementing these programs more widely.
Make sure firearm owners take on the responsibility of ensuring their weapons are used safely.

Put America on the path to ensuring that 100% of firearms sold in America are smart guns. Today, we have the technology to allow only authorized users to fire a gun. For example, existing smart gun technology requires a fingerprint match before use. Biden believes we should work to eventually require that 100% of firearms sold in the U.S. are smart guns. But, right now the NRA and gun manufacturers are bullying firearms dealers who try to sell these guns. Biden will stand up against these bullying tactics and issue a call to action for gun manufacturers, dealers, and other public and private entities to take steps to accelerate our transition to smart guns.

Hold adults accountable for giving minors access to firearms. Biden supports legislation holding adults criminally and civilly liable for directly or negligently giving a minor access to a firearm, regardless of whether the minor actually gains possession of the firearm.

Require gun owners to safely store their weapons. Biden will pass legislation requiring firearm owners to store weapons safely in their homes.

Empower law enforcement to effectively enforce our gun laws.

Prioritize prosecution of straw purchasers. “Straw purchasers” buy a firearm on behalf of an individual who cannot pass a background check. Biden will end those loopholes by enacting a law to make all straw purchases a serious federal crime and ensure the U.S. Justice Department has sufficient resources to prioritize their prosecution.

Notify law enforcement when a potential firearms purchaser fails a background check. Too often, when prohibited persons attempting to buy a firearm fail a background check, state and local law enforcement is never informed of the attempt. As president, Biden will direct the FBI to set up a process to ensure timely notification of denials to state and local law enforcement, and he’ll support legislation to codify this process. This empowers law enforcement to follow up and ensure prohibited persons do not attempt to acquire firearms through other means.

Require firearms owners to report if their weapon is lost or stolen. Responsible gun owners have a responsibility to inform law enforcement if their weapon is lost or stolen. Biden will enact legislation to make this the law of the land.

Stop “ghost guns.” One way people who cannot legally obtain a gun may gain access to a weapon is by assembling a one on their own, either by buying a kit of disassembled gun parts or 3D printing a working firearm. Biden will stop the proliferation of these so-called “ghost guns” by passing legislation requiring that purchasers of gun kits or 3D printing code pass a federal background check. Additionally, Biden will ensure that the authority for firearms exports stays with the State Department, and if needed reverse a proposed rule by President Trump. This will ensure the State Department continues to block the code used to 3D print firearms from being made available on the Internet.

Reform, fund, and empower the U.S. Justice Department to enforce our gun laws. Biden will direct his Attorney General to deliver to him within his first 100 days a set of recommendations for restructuring the ATF and related Justice Department agencies to most effectively enforce our gun laws. Biden will then work to secure sufficient funds for the Justice Department to effectively enforce our existing gun laws, increase the frequency of inspections of firearms dealers, and repeal riders that get in the way of that work.

Direct the ATF to issue an annual report on firearms trafficking. This report will provide officials with critical information to better identify strategies for curbing firearms trafficking.

TACKLE URBAN GUN VIOLENCE WITH TARGETED, EVIDENCE-BASED COMMUNITY INTERVENTIONS
Daily acts of gun violence in our communities may not make national headlines, but are just as devastating to survivors and victims’ families as gun violence that does make the front page. And, these daily acts of gun violence disproportionately impact communities of color. But there is reason to be optimistic. There are proven strategies for reducing gun violence in urban communities without turning to incarceration. For example, Group Violence Intervention organizes community leaders to work with individuals most likely to commit acts of gun violence, express the community’s demand that the gun violence stop, and connect individuals who may be likely perpetrators with social and economic support services that may deter violent behavior. These types of interventions have reduced homicides by as much as 60%. Hospital-Based Violence Intervention engages young people who have been injured by gun violence while they are still in the hospital, connecting them to social and economic services that may decrease the likelihood they engage in or are victims of gun violence in the future. Biden will create a $900 million, eight-year initiative to fund these and other types of evidence-based interventions in 40 cities across the country – the 20 cities with the highest number of homicides, and 20 cities with the highest number of homicides per capita. This proposal is estimated to save more than 12,000 lives over the eight-year program.

Dedicate the brightest scientific minds to solving the gun violence public health epidemic. In 2013, President Obama issued a memorandum clarifying that a longstanding appropriations rider that prohibited the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other federal scientific agencies from using federal dollars to “advocate or promote gun control” does not prohibit those agencies from researching the causes and prevention of gun violence. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) subsequently embarked on funding some of this research, though Republican leadership in Congress refused to appropriate any funds to the CDC for this work. Biden will call for Congress to appropriate $50 million to accelerate this research at the CDC and NIH.

Prohibit the use of federal funds to arm or train educators to discharge firearms. We should be passing rational gun laws, not requiring educators who already have too much on their plates to also protect the safety of their students. Biden supports barring states from using federal dollars to arm or train educators to discharge firearms.

Address the epidemic of suicides by firearms. Biden believes any plan to address the gun violence epidemic must address suicides by firearms, which account for 6 in 10 gun-related deaths but are often left out of the conversation. Many of the policies noted above – including safe storage requirements and extreme risk protection orders – will have a serious impact on efforts to reduce gun violence. But there’s so much more we need to do to support people experiencing suicidal ideation. In the months ahead, Biden will put forward a comprehensive plan to improve access to mental health services.

SUPPORTING SURVIVORS OF VIOLENCE AND THEIR COMMUNITIES
Violence causes ripples of trauma throughout our communities, impacting not just the victims of violence but also their communities and first responders. Fear of school shootings is having a noticeable impact on the mental health of Gen Z. Intimate partner violence is linked to depression, post-traumatic stress, and other mental health challenges among survivors. And, this trauma can be intergenerational. Science now shows that young children who witness violence – including in their home – literally alters the parts of their brains that affect “reasoning, planning, and behavioral control.”

We need to reduce violence to prevent trauma from happening in the first place. But we also must treat the resulting trauma as a serious crisis in its own right.

As president, Biden will:

Make federal programs more trauma-informed. During his first 100 days, Biden will direct his Cabinet to conduct a review of all federal programs that directly serve communities likely to experience violence and identify reforms to make sure those programs effectively address resulting trauma. Biden will then invest significant federal funds in expanding and improving the federal government’s support for trauma-informed and culturally responsive care.

Create a network of trauma care centers. Biden will bring together offices within the federal government to establish specialized trauma care centers for survivors of violence, with a special focus on survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Domestic violence services are focused on meeting the emergency needs of survivors, including safety planning and crisis intervention. As a result, frontline providers lack the resources they need to offer therapeutic services to help survivors heal from trauma. These trauma care centers will be flexible in meeting the needs of communities, and could be housed at rape crisis centers, domestic violence programs, universities, and existing mental health centers.

Train health care and other service providers in trauma-centered care. To prevent revictimization and secondary trauma, Biden will align training efforts throughout relevant federal programs to include a focus on understanding the traumatic effects of violence, providing appropriate care to avoid furthering the trauma, linking survivors with evidence-based trauma therapies, and reducing myths about domestic and sexual violence. This will be accomplished through agency directives, policy guidance, and special conditions for grantees and contractors.

If the Democrats gain the White House, gain a majority of seats in the Senate, and maintain or expand their control of the House, they will have a mandate. It doesn't matter how narrow the margins of victory are or how tenuous Democratic control over Congress is, they will have a mandate. It won't matter that many of the folks who vote for Biden will be doing so explicitly not because they support his platform or even the Democratic party, but because they are tired of Trump, it will be a mandate to pass all the laws on Biden's platform and then some.

And that is why the most important elections this year are for the Senate. If the GOP keeps the Senate, it hobbles Biden/Harris and Pelosi. If Trump wins but the Democrats take the Senate, they'll spend the next four years trying to impeach Trump - and they might succeed. And at some point they might pass an AWB (before they impeach Trump) and I have zero confidence that Trump (especially once reelected) will not sign it into law.

Of course if Biden wins, and the marxist take both the house and senate, they will have a mandate to take our guns.

For the American people will have voted, and if it is a fair and open election then we know that the majority of Americans as really stupid. But not as stupid as the people on our side that say Trump is an enemy to our guns. I don't care what he has said in the past, has he done anything other than the bump stocks against us? He isn't perfect and he is an egotistical maniac, but he is better than the marxist.

If the marxist win, it is game over, this will not be obama part 2 and in 4 years we will have a chance to throw Harris out of office.

Step1

Congress votes to expand the court to 15

Step 2

They had marxist judges to the court

Step3

DC and Puerto Rico become states

Step 4

Congress passes law to change Presidential election to popular vote. Yes I know what the Constitution says, it will not matter.

Step5
SCOTUS declares above law to be Constitutional

They will do all of the above, and if you think I am wrong, please go study the transition of power from a non marxist form of government to a marxist one.

So in light of the above, ask yourself two very simple questions.

What are my guns compared to all of the above, from a marxist point of view?

Second, is Trump really that bad, when compared to the above?

Lastly, if I wanted to render the Second Amendment null and void, in the easiest way possible. I would sign executive order or have my marxist Congress pass environmental laws that close forever the manufacturing of ammo, and ban the importation of ammo as well for the environment.

You are definitely aware of how this crap happens. At risk of invoking Godwin, Hitler came to power and abolished all other parties by legal means. Nearly everything the nazi's did was codified by law, of course it was laws they passed but they still took the time to enact those laws so everything would be legal. Why does anyone think they did that?

It was so they couldn't be declared a rogue state and liberated by another country. And for the first time in a LONG time, the Marxists are largely out in the open (and I'm not calling them Marxists as a slur, they identify as Marxists), they have stated their goals plainly which include the destruction of capitalism which they are presenting as the only road to racial equality even though they couldn't actually give a damn about racial equality.

Last time communism was meant to fix class struggle. It didn't work beyond the fact that pretty much everyone became poor and didn't own property, except of course for the power elite within the party.

And this time communism won't fix racism, that is beyond the point that most people of most races will realize we've created a bigger, common enemy. The power brokers will still be the power brokers.

People laughed when Trump said he'd build a wall and get Mexico to pay for it. But we allow 30-40% of our income to be taken from us and used to create and enforce laws that most of us don't even agree with. Even worse we never even got to vote on how this money would be spent or what laws would be enacted. We actually pay the people who do this stuff to us.

well that is the first problem :)

polls ? what polls the left ones to make you go OH WELL I give up

if he wins its going to be a mess
if you get in a car accident you might die ?
if you get cancer you might live ?
if .....

at this point vote for trump and fend off the idiocy till 4 years see who we get where we are and go again

Polls being what they are, the deficit this year is far bigger than in 2016, and in the end, the national polling was pretty close.

At this point, I am firmly in the camp of "we are effed" and "it's over"

I'm still going to vote, but I think the result has already been decided [not by God tho ;)]

Step 4

Congress passes law to change Presidential election to popular vote. Yes I know what the Constitution says, it will not matter.

Step5
SCOTUS declares above law to be Constitutional

Unfortunately, that has to be a Constitutional Amendment and the SCOTUS would have to vote 9-0 against it. Even the liberals on the court couldn't declare that "law" legal. Even if they did, that process will never go through since 39 States have to ratify it even if you add your two new States. Which will NOT happen since it takes away power from the individual States.

You guys are missing the core facts about how Biden/Harris plan to do this.

1) change the law (or not) such that the hated black rifles become NFA items just like machine guns.

2) to prevent claims of taking without compensation, offer "voluntary" buybacks.

You have to do one or the other. (They literally say that and the above)

Not doing so sets you up for federal weapons charges. Can't take it to the range, if your house burns down or police have other reason to be there or even a neighbor you don't like remembers you have them, it's reported as having illegal machine guns with huge fines and jail time.

It's in their plans in black and white. They've tried it in the past just didn't have the numbers. They learn from the first ban period there will not be any grandfathering.

By the way there's language in one of the documents referenced from their website that the $200 fee per weapons would need to be increased as it's not been changed since 1934 for whatever and significantly more would be required to handle the additional volume.

If they get the Senate they can do all of this. (Assuming biden wins and house stays under dem control).

they can put in provisions preventing revisiting the issue like in the original assault weapons ban.

So you're can be noncompliant, until you are caught.

By the way it is very likely they will pass the court until they have a majority so you can't even count on the supreme Court taking it up.

So you can dislike Teump or like Biden, or whatever you want to do. But if you are a shooter and do anything but support DJT, you are literally dooming yourself.

There is no guarantee what Trump may or may not do. But I don't think he's stupid. But we flat out know but Biden and cameltoe will do.

Thought I'd post the policy here. Part 2 is below. Even if you just scroll though and look at part 1 highlighted text and ponder what this kind of intrusiveness at the Federal level means.

How about this; Make ARs NFA only. Buy backs, bans, manufacturer liability, standard mag cap bans, restriction on the number of guns you may own, more red flag laws, etc.

It is really bad:

Cut directly from Joe Biden homepage

Close the “hate crime loophole.”
Biden will enact legislation prohibiting an individual “who has been convicted of a misdemeanor hate crime, or received an enhanced sentence for a misdemeanor because of hate or bias in its commission” from purchasing or possessing a firearm.

Close the “Charleston loophole.”
The Charleston loophole allows people to complete a firearms purchase if their background check is not completed within three business days.

Stop “ghost guns.”
One way people who cannot legally obtain a gun may gain access to a weapon is by assembling a one on their own, either by buying a kit of disassembled gun parts or 3D printing a working firearm.

----------------------------------------------------------------
As president, Biden will:

A huge item in that plan is ending the online sale of ammunitions, guns, and gun parts. That would ruin so many small family-run companies that do most of their business by reaching out nationally to the online audience. And if you aren't blessed with an abundance of well stocked LGS options, you will have very limited access to specialty parts and things we all need. And not being able to get ammo in bulk, online, would almost end my ability to shoot the way I do.

Ok, let's say biden/harris steal the election and win the presidency, com-dems take both houses, and rabid anti gun legislation/"confiscation" becomes law. Now, let us project a bit further, if the taking of one item of private property, i.e. guns, is acceptable, and the intensely "independent law abiding gun owners" comply, what's next? Private homes re-distributed to the "poor", independent small business given to all employees ? We all suddenly work for the common good? Commuting in mass transit (no privately owned cars perhaps?) and bicycles? Extreme example, I know, no way the USA will go the way of Zimbabwe, Venezuela, or Cuba. Hahaha... Now lets return to original point of confiscation. This is where LE, will have to choose a side; follow egregious orders or not. My opinion, 95-99% LE will knock down the doors of their neighbors without a second thought. Their salary, benefits, and pensions outweigh any citizens rights. The .Mil, if they are involved, will follow orders, no matter what.
The question to all of you law abiding gun owners, will you comply or shoot back? Will you personally take it to the friends and families of those who will break down your door to forcibly take (steal) your private property ? Still support LE despite the fact they will turn against the citizens? Quite the conundrum.
Personally, if such scenarios were to come to fruition, I would say **** you to the USA and relocate elsewhere. This is not just based on gun ownership in and of itself, but other biden harris proposals, such as significantly raising taxes on those making over 400k, increased payroll taxes, increase in estate and capital gains taxes. You know what, **** you twice. A house on Costa del Sol is a better alternative than supporting the new communist regime here.
Wait you say, how can one leave 'Merica ? What a godless coward to abandon the United States ? NO such thing as UNITED! I, and also would venture a guess a great many here, have absolutely NOTHING IN COMMON, with the vast majority of Americans. Especially those residents of NY NJ MA CT WA CA MD, even CO NC OR and VA to mention a few. The major cities in Texas, such as Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, Houston, liberal shitholes. Plus liberal comdem cesspools in other states that I'm omitting.
So, interesting times ahead, as that vile ChiCom saying goes. If all hell breaks lose, I'm relocating, if it doesn't , then I have a nice vacation home.

I'm not registering, turning in, or anything else and I don't care who hears it. I've been very vocal about it in my community as well. My deputies asked this of me after I was elected and told me they would resign if I told to do any of the crap we read about. Here in Arkansas we can find a way to live without sacrificing everything we hold close.

Would I go down in a blaze of glory, not really the plan. My thoughts tend more to identifying who commits these acts and dealing with them at a later time........hypothetically speaking of course. I think many more think the same way. Hopefully it won't need to come to that.

This isn't 1994. If he does a straight-out confiscation there will be blood. I hope he has better sense than to push the country into civil war for a policy that won't even have the desired effect.

You need a time out to my AO. Get away from all those peaches in that State. Out here, all you have to do is find you a shady spot on a lawn chair or one of billions of rocks and boulders, have a cool drink and watch the clouds float around. No sound but cows in the distance, or you hear nothing but the wind, and the occasional insect that buzzes by. You have choices out here - you can totally detach and tune it all out. That's why the "Biden Plan", after careful review, just has nothing to offer, so I will opt out - I will pass on it. I'm running things, not Biden. This is the approach an individual and free Man takes. No stress or worry, just a solid stance.

I am heading up into the high country of the eastern side of the Sangre de Cristo range of the Rockies - just the wife, my daughter and myself. Three riding horses and one pack horse. No TV, no radio, no electronic devices. Just food, water and small tent and guns. it will be a three day horse trip. Other than three of us, will never see another human.

The therapeutic effects of living in the country cannot be overstated. When I first started in police work I lived in city limits. Several years later, when I moved out in the country, my stress level went way down upon going 10-7 for the day. Nothing to hear but birds, coyotes and the wind. Not a even a street lamp within 10 miles.

I second the motion - if nothing else, the food, a break from the humidity, and getting away from people is worth the trip. I was also just blown away this summer in South Dakota when I looked up into a moonless sky. I don't know about a mandate for gun control... but I am concerned about gun control via unconstitutional executive action. Trump admin banning bump stocks based on a phony interpretation of GCA language has possibly set the stage for more to come from other administrations. Banning bump stocks required congress to act with legislation. Trump did an unconstitutional end-run around congress.

And there's the problem. Leftists spread everywhere. It's why TX, NC, SC, and GA are now all in danger of either becoming swing states or completely blue. A lot of it is the colleges in otherwise red states sending out brainwashed students into the surrounding communities, as well as some of the liberals fleeing from the states that they destroyed. However, I suspect it's more of the former.

While I do not personally buy into the infallibility of the SCOTUS, and that they are the "final word" on things, we barely hold an edge there. Even if Barrett got seated I can describe the court as "RINO-ish" at best when it comes to guns. What is the likelihood that SCOTUS could rule that making AR's and such NFA items is within Constitutional boundaries? The Dems wouldn't be making them "illegal" or banning them, just merely making them NFA items.

Of course one could make the legitimate argument that declaring something an NFA item is in fact registration, which of course it would actually be.

Even if they could bring a case about whether or not it is constitutionally permissible to regulate ARs under the NFA, the question would still have to be answered: Regardless if they are NFA or not, are we guaranteed the right to own them or not?

That would be a good argument: If the point to putting semi-auto rifles under the NFA is to keep them out of the wrong hands, then we shouldn't worry about select fire and full auto weapons from falling into the wrong hands. The only real argument against it is "It's too complicated to explain and I understand it completely but you never could..." and, of course, "You're a white supremacist redneck Nazi pig!"

I hope you're speaking rhetorically 'cause no way in hell I'd go along with that. I know you're into NFA stuff but I have none and have no desire to. It wouldn't even be close to acceptable to me for regular semi-autos to be made NFA just so I could own a new-production MG. You can have it.

The NFA is in fact a registry; none of those items, if push came to shove, could you deny owning and having possession of. I like having that "flexibility". Shit can disappear and there really isn't anything they can do about it as long as they don't find anything.

It was more of a "move to block" and I understand and accept your position.

However if it was the choice between two outcomes...

1. "Military style" semi autos become NFA weapons

or

2. "Military style" semi autos become NFA weapons, but the registry is opened.

Then I'm going for option 2. And quite frankly, if they impose option one...a LOT of people are going to get new M4s anyway. It wouldn't end well.

What if the states didn’t go along?

For example imagine the state you live in passed legislation that every law abiding adult citizen was a member of the state militia. As part of this law militia members were to procure, at their discretion, appropriate weapons and keep them. No federal prohibitions then apply because it is the state’s prerogative to regulate their state militia, so the Feds can go suck a mile of cock on who has what.

Actually I am aware, being a professional corporation. However, even with a CPA/Tax attorney willing to push the envelope, my tax bill was still in the mid 6 figure range. Perhaps I should turn my patio into 'farmland' and rise mini cattle /horses; for an urban city dweller that is not an option.

What you need is land, and the ability to adopt certain environmentally friendly techniques of range grazing rotation and re-vegetation - these two will get you massive tax breaks. Install solar for irrigation or cattle drinker water pumping - big tax breaks. Certain types of cattle will get you grant money and additional tax breaks. The list goes on. If I utilized all the grant money and tax breaks for modern environmentally friendly ranching, I'd pay little or no taxes.

Then there's the area of creative tax liability. It's all in the counting and processing of the dumbest critter God ever placed on planet Earth. Easiest thing to do...or not do.
