did a quick search and did not find anything specific and apologies if this is a dupe....
i have an sp1 upper that has had the barrel chopped to 10.5 with a 5.5 inch flash hider installed. this upper came from a 77 made sp1 and i have since sold the lower.
question is that there are no marks on the barrel left due to the chop and am wondering if in fact the barrel is chambered 5.56 and not .223 as stamped on the sp1 receiver, but am 100% sure of the barrel being original to the rifle.
searching the net did not reveal anything that i'd put a whole lot a faith into.
