Be careful viewing youtube videos guys. There's a nasty little virus embedded in some of them that will effect IE and FireFox users. Youtube is trying to pull the videos as they find them but this little bugger is nasty!

It's brand spanking new so it will be a little while before some anti-viruses catch up. Make sure you update your AV software regularly over the next few days.

Is it affecting videos from known sources? I mean is it embedded by the posters of the videos, or hacked/added into previously ok videos?

That is why I use Linux!!!

The only machine I've ever lost was a Red Hat machine so don't get lulled into a false sense of security. Yes your chances are less but Linux is not immune.

It's affecting videos from YouTube. I doubt they are hacking existing videos but proceed with caution.
