Trying to accumulate components to reload for my rifles.
-What are you guys favorite powders for Blackout? (Supers and subs)
-Favorite supersonic projo for 2-legged varmints?
-Has anyone (DocGK, Shivan etc) done a ballistic test for .300 loads and projos?
-Can/Will magnum pistol primers work sufficiently in Blackout?

- Lil Gun for Supers; I don't do Subs.

- 110 grain Hornady V-Max or 110 grain Nosler Varmageddon. I use them interchangeably for HD.

- I wouldn't use pistol primers magnum or other wise

I'm new to the load but I've had excellent results with 123 thru 147 gr bullets with CFE BLK.

For lighter bullets like 110gr I like to use H110. For heavier like 150gr and up I like A1680

Not sure how the pistol primers would hold up to the bolt slamming forward.

For the favorite projectile, I like the Barnes 110gr for 300 blk.

I have considered that, as it seems to be a very oftenly discussed concern on the web. I guess it will have to be a trial and error deal because CCI No41s are non-existent. And in addition to an AR with 9” AAC barrel, I have a H&R that sensitive loads can be used in. I inherited a lot of flat nose 30-30 projos and they will be loaded for the H&R.

110 Barnes Black Tip with H110.
Hornady V Max 110 works as well, but not in same league as the Barnes.

I reload a lot of 300 BLK, and these are my preferred loads for subs and supers:

Subsonic
220 gr bullet (i've used Nosler, Berrys, Hornady)
10 gr Accurate 1680 powder
Primers: CCI #400
OAL: 2.24

Supersonic plinking loads
150 gr Hornady BT (also used 125 SMks and 135 SSTs)
16.5 gr H110 powder
Primers: CCI #400
OAL: 2.26

Supersonic defense or hunting load
110gr Barnes TTSX
20gr H110 powder
OAL 2.15
Primer CCI #400

These loads have all worked well for me. I've also used Accurate 1680 for supersonic, but prefer H110.

Not my first choice but I would use magnum small pistol primers if it was all I could find. I don't think you really need 41's, any small rifle primer works.

Bullets Banes TSX are good but expensive, a more cost effective solution are the Nosler 30 Caliber 110 Grain Varmageddon FB Tipped or the Speer TNT 125 grain.

Powder Win 296, H 110, Lil Gun for supers, for lighter bullets I don't think that CFE Blkout gives the highest velocity .

110 gr. Barnes with H110 or Lil'Gun. Heavy Sierra and Hornady BTHP's for subsonic fun. I've used mostly Federal SR primers, occasionally CCI.

I recall Doc Roberts stating that the 110 gr. Barnes overpenetrated too much to be considered optimal in HD/SD use.

Win 296 if you can't find H110 or Lil gun

300-MP would probably work as well. It seems to still be readily available in my area

I use Berry’s 220’s. 12 gr of 1680 keeps me subsonic at 1019 fps from my 9” gun but will be supersonic in a 16”. 10 gr stays subsonic in a 16” but I haven’t chrono’d it.
