I was under the mistaken impression that this company was defunct, but it's alive and kicking. In a world of Magpul, Lancer, and Okay, I'm not sure how well they're doing but somebody's buying their mags.

Looks like they're still using Zytel plastic. Is that yesterday's material with regard to mags or is it still a viable choice?

I have some from the late 1980's that I acquired brand new back then. They always worked for me.

I had 7 of them years ago (90s ban years) most of them failed on me in dramatic ways, bottom blow off when loaded or split and puke rounds from top when in rifle. The last one that I have of is my AR 5.7 brass catcher, I only had to cut off cracked feed lips off. Only thing I have found them to be is a dependable fire starter. I got mine in a swap with a PPCLI guy when we was training together, they prefered old USGI aluminum mags to them for longer life or dependable aka not to fail when needed.

I have a handful that I use regularly and they are fine. No issues.

Love their stripper clips as well...

Their stripper clip is also apparently an "emergency fuel stick"? What's it made of - magnesium or some such?

During the AWB I bought about 5 of them for the Mini-14. They were poor. In 2004 I put them in the trash, and bought factory twenties.

In a world of Pmags, why would anybody want a Thermold?

The polymer there is flammable. No magnesium

Their stripper guides work very well and act as a funnel with loose ammo.

The only good reason I'd see would be if you're cloning an early Canadian C7 or C8, and even that only for display. Why bother when you can get D&H for half the price and much better reliability?

Bought a couple of these, more as a curiosity than anything else. The followers are definitely not anti-tilt, and the mag itself feels flimsy compared to a P-Mag or Lancer. Wonder what kind of luck the Canadians had with these?

NONE. The Canadian version doesn't even use Zytel, they use some crappy knockoff plastic. IIRC, over in the Rockpile they were trading 'em off for our guys's USGI and Magpul at every opportunity... and IIRC shortly before that they were already going back to GI as standard.

Only reason to have them is curiosity, display with a Canadian clone, or mags that are MEANT to fail for malfunction training.

I bought about 20 of theses in the early 2000's, and I still use them a bit. When I got my first AR, they were my primary mags, but I didn't shoot much back then.

In my limited experience, they work well (zero failures to feed for me) until they break. I had feed lips break on 1 or 2, and I had the tabs break from the baseplate/bottom extension an expandable one. Those breakages were accidental damage during handling, which was sometimes abusive.
