Animals can get this too or something similar. My Vet. had to pull these worms out of an animal's feet.

They are native to Central and South America, and have been introduced by humans to sub-Saharan Africa. Nasty buggers.

I think we call them Chiggers in Texas, anyway.

Different critters.

Wonder if spraying your feet daily with something like Adams flea spray would fix the problem.
That looks worse than juvenile ticks so hoping we are too far north for them to survive.

If the active ingredient is very similar to permethrin, probably not on bare skin, but possibly if used on shoes/socks. Either way, probably not a good idea for human use.
Although potential harm vs. that crap could tip the scale on any cost to benefit ratio.

The thing about debridement is all that crap needs to be scrapped down to raw skin. Then let use the ole maggot treatment.
I feel itchy everywhere like I got the ookoos

bot flies FUN FUN FUN
some of the folks I knew in Honduras had some gnarly scars from other kinds of parasites and worms that would get in the feet did not look like this more long tunnel burrowing scars ?
Before we'd deploy or go on a float I would have to attend (then deliver to my platoon) a medical intelligence brief; you know, the AO has these diseases, these critters, etc. I got to the point I would just tell the Marines "stay hydrated and change your socks and see me if you have any problems." The briefs were enough to scare the hell out of you.

I regret watching those videos. Damn sure I'm going to have nightmares tonight about my feet.
You know, I initially read the thread title too fast and was like WTF? Then I thought it was a semantic game, a play on words. Never mind.

Fortunately never seen one, but a common name for those in central Kentucky is "wolves". I have been told they can be removed by putting a glass Coke bottle mouth over entrance and smacking the base, but I don't see how that would work with the little attachment set up.

Wolves get into critters like sqirrels & rabbits in warm weather..one of several reasons I dont hunt anything in warm/hot weather. They are larvae. After you shoot, say a rabbit, you can feel it under the skin, and if you let it lay a bit, itll start coming out. I dont eat anything that has them in it. Never heard about the Coke bottle thing- Id have to see it to believe tho.
