That depends on who you ask these days online, objectively, I feel the best way to answer it for the 68 is who is doing what with it

I guess its up to each to make that decision, its clear to most the 68 at least is gaining ground, and 2009 should be interesting...
As stated above, there are a number of ammo manufacturers but they still average about $1 per round. That is why I reload my own. In fact the 6.8 SPC is the only round I do reload. It now costs me less to shoot my 6.8 then it does to buy cheap Wolf ammo for my 5.56

You can regularly find deals from Silver State Armory, Cheaper than dirt, and Midway USA for around 15.50 -17.50 per box of 20. I recently bought 10 boxes from SSA for 16.50 box for 110 gr. prohunters.
It looks like around $1.00 per shot.
For good ammo- yes, it's around $1 per shot.
