KAC M4 RAS?

My brother just got a new KAC M4 RAS off ebay. The price was too good to be true and I just want to make sure he didn't get hosed. Is there a way to authenticate it? What all does a new one come with also? Thanks for any help guys.

You should be able to tell once you handle it. If it was much under 200.00 I would be wary of the airsoft stuff. Then again some guys can find great deals.

Do you know what the "airsoft" ones look like or are marked? This one he got seems legit, I just couldn't believe the price he got it for. I know nothing about the cheap knockoffs to tell the difference since its been so long since I've seen a real KAC myself.

Recently a lot of real KAC stuff has been sold online at insane prices. At great risk to the sellers, who happen to live near a rather large military installation. There was some talk of it on TOS. (Why do we never mention TOS's name? Someone please PM me on that one.)

Some of the fakes out there could be harder to spot out for, especially if you're buying it online. The pictures posted above should be a good reference. I got mine new with 8 KAC rail panels and KAC vert grip for $145 from a buddy that runs a surplus store. That said, I got a good deal on it because I was lucky, and it's from a buddy who happened to snag one. It had gotten "misplaced" during transport years ago and ended up at his spot. Another way to tell is to look at the box. Replicas usually don't come in the plain white box with the KAC serial number and parts ID on there as well.
