Someone with grit.

What a chin and neck. Reminds me to keep my complaining and murmuring way down.

I would have cut my foot off.
As impressive as that persons will is, eventually that is going to lead to permanent injury.
Not sure how remote he is, but if he has immediate neighbors they should be embarrassed. I know everyone wants to be independent and self sufficient but I'd probably go spend a day helping someone like that.
Nice thing about being in Iowa is when we got that stupid storm last year and the streets looked like a forest, nearly everyone came out of every house and we had roads cleared before the city ever got to us. Cleaned up a lot of yards too, guys who kicked in the most got thank you gift certificates for the local BBQ joint.
I really like my neighbors. The worst guy on the block is better than the best neighbor I left behind in Florida.
I would have cut my foot off.
Would take me 5 minutes to split two logs then I'd need a chair and a gatorade.
His name is Petr Schneider and he is a Czech.

Probably came up hard so he is hard. Still his neighbors should be ashamed, unless of course he lives way off the grid.

His neighbors were all for helping out, until He asked them to hold the wood.

I once got schooled on a 3 gun stage by a guy with one arm. Some folks ability to adapt is humbling.
As impressive it is, I'm at the age where all I do as ask "why?" when see such things.

For some people being independent is everything. I recall reading some stuff on Louis Awerbuck after his suicide where people that claimed to know him mentioned conversations that about the only thing he feared was not being independent/being a burden on others.

Louis was a friend of mine. I attended his Celebration of Life in Phoenix with many of the Old Gunsite crew etc....and that's exactly right.

I didn't know that's how he checked out, but known people who have for same reasons, and I understand that motivation.
Had a vet on my plane a few years ago with no legs(none, like gone from the crotch down)... We asked him if he needed an aisle chair or if he had a wheel chair in cargo for when we got there and he said "nah, I got these gloves"... he WALKED ON HIS HANDS... We walked out with him. He hopped right on the escalator going down. ****ing inspiration.

I saw that guy several years back and that is very cool. Seen another recently where a guy is shooting gallon jugs in a pasture and reloading with his feet that i couldn't recall if it was this guy. Now that you posted this I can't find the pasture video of course.:confused:7

Israel Hale, a guy that I know, finished the 2600 miles Iron Dog Snowmobile Race this year with the same type of amputation and that's how he gets around. The Iron Dog is considered one of the toughest motorsports races in the world. The dude is tough as Hell.
All the more proof that I am not up to "living off the grid", being a wilderness prepper, except in my imagination.
And a lady this time.
