I have a Clinton era bushmaster 20HBAR with a notched hammer and I'm thinking about changing the original BCG with one from LMT. Now when I look at my LMT carbine, the bolt carrier is of a different design and the hammer is not notched.
A while back I read somewhere about the purpose of the notch but can't rememember where.
I know that others change their Bush. BCG"s but don't know if Bushmasters still make the notched hammers and same carrier design.
Any problems by making the switch ?

No issues at all. Notched or not, they will work fine in your weapon.

Thanks for taking the time to clarify the question.
Have to add this to the large list of things I learned from you.
