View Full Version : Magpul trigger guard and Gen M3 interference
I just built 4 lowers, 2 SOLGW, 1 Centurion, and one Colt . I used Magpul plastic trigger guards on all 4 and all 4 will barely let Gen M3 mags seat. If the magazine is towards the front of the magwell they lock in, but if it’s centered or pulled the rear at all they don’t seat.
I had to stone a little clearance at the very front of the trigger guard to let the mags seat easily.
Just something to look out for I guess.

Solid contribution. Thanks. Is that lower in the pic SOLGW?
Yep. I like the magwell bevel. Nice lower.

Yeah, I was looking at that bevel. Do they drop empty G3’s pretty readily?
Thanks. I haven’t had an issue on that end with mags but have had an issue with the BCM grip with extended forward tang conflicting with the Magpul trigger guard. Won’t let the grip pull up tight. Had to dremmel or get the Mod 0 without the tang.

Yeah. Pop right out.
Yeah. Pop right out.
Noted. Thanks.
Hmmm, I wonder if Magpul's aluminum trigger guards have the same issue?

Its either mod one part or the other. However, if you aren't overly worked up about it, you can simply tighten the grip screw more and it works fine without mod. I've done it on a bunch of mine. I will point out its easier to do with an allen wrench than it is a screwdriver.
Interesting on the Magpul trigger guard..I have only used BCM trigger guards on 3 separate lowers- that I had built by a LGS and no issues with trigger guards and PMags....

Weird that you are having that issue, I've have not had any issues with ether Magpul or BCM trigger guards with Gen 3 Mags but I did with the metal one from SOLGW with my SOLGW lower. I just replaced it. Could just be tolerance stacking.
I checked all 6 of my Magpul trigger guards and had zero issues with my Gen3 Pmags. No issue with my single BCM either, but it's funny this came up as I just installed a B5 earlier this week and there is a tiny interference with my Gen 3's.

My SOLGW lower with a magpul polymer triger guard locks in Magpul m3 20 rnd pmags regardless of how I insert the magazine.
