Its been Federal law since the 1790 Second Militia Act. Read US 10 Code 246 about the organized and unorganized militias. SC is just following Federal code into state law. Gun bans won't work. In the reasons for the US vs Miller 1939 where they upheld the NFA tax on a saw off shotgun in which they stated that it was NOT a militia weapon. So, what is a militia weapon. Standard infantry rifle was during the change between the M1903 Springfield and M1 Garand. Thompson SMG, M1918 BARs and machine guns were part of the infantry. So, does that mean full autos in the NFA are void?
