Just completed a 2 day "Treasure Hunt" in several locations where my family had homesteads in the 1850 time frame. Apparently my family smashes stuff and chunks it out the window when done with whatever it was. Did find a leather wrapped hammer and a cast iron pot that are pretty neat.

I'm stuck on this piece. It's heavy for the size at 4.8 ounces. Appears to be solid brass/copper except for the center stud which will attract a magnet. I thought maybe a door knob but it seems too thin for that. I then thought a siezed caster/roller for something since it has a flat/ground down side. But that wouldn't make sense with the brass/copper make up.

Any ideas? 1965 "Treasure" quarter for size reference.

Old school handle for a coffee grinder.

A crank handle of sorts definitely makes the most sense, Thanks!
