Hi all. I'm new to the forum but not all that new to the AR platform.

I'm currently in the process of building a Stag AR. I'm wondering what you guys (and gals) carry your rifles in?

I alternate back and forth between a Ridge footwear soft case and a Guide Series hard case (which I have to break down the AR to fit it in) but the hard case will be dedicated to my GSG-5 once I SBR it, because I can lock the Guide case...

In a soft case, hands down is the Cheaper Than Dirt Ultimate MOLLY case for $44. Unreal how nice this case for the money.

Ridge, can you post a pic of the Guide case with your AR broken down in it? It's kind of how I was thinking of storing mine.

I have a soft Blackhawk case for mine. Its alright, it fits it just tight enough so that the rifle can't move around at all. Has a few mag pouches on top. I was in a rush and needed to pick up a case ASAP so thats what I ended up with. In hindsight I would have liked one of the MOLLE Ultimate cases like ksa464 mentioned already.

I like the Hardigg Storm cases we have. Pelican's are all right.

Hardigg's have little clip releases on the inside so they dont hurt my wittle fingers.

I just ordered a Blackhawk discrete case for the new Colt. I didn't have the best experience with the ordering process from lapolicegear, but we'll see how things work out. Anyone else had any bad experiences with them??

I have both the 36" and the 42" cases. Both are great for the money.

Hey, I can't find that hard case of yours. That looks like just what I need.

Link me?

Just in my jeep or truck. I almost never use a case. If I'm going somewhere with my rifle, it might as well be ready to grab.

I got it at Gander Mountain back in like May or June...they dont seem to carry them anymore...here is a used one on eBay...

I'd find out if he has the keys if interested in buying it...

Here is how mine fits the GSG-5 when mocked up as an SBR...

I have the 31" "Homeland Security" Leapers/UTG case from Optics Planet: $22. It's perfectly adequate.

Eagle soft cases primarily. I-shot also.

Pelican or Storm hard cases.

Where stealth is needed, sports or instrument cases.

i have the UTG "Covert Case". not very covert at all. it screams "GUN INSIDE HERE!!!!!"

but it is a good case and was very cheap.

my state requires a case (and locks) for transport. a locked trunk counts as "locked" but i'm pretty sure it doesn't count as a case.

Does anyone have a case that holds two rifles?

Got my blackhawk in mail today and it looks pretty solid. Kudos to lapolicegear for getting it to me.

I think 5.11 bags were on sale for a good price that holds 2 rifles at lapolicegear's site when I was looking. soemthing like $60. I would check there.

I really like my Blackhawk 2-rifle case. It's somewhat low profile.

I am looking at the 5.11 double VTAC case.

I've got a 5.11 VTAC case for my Reminton 700. It's a nice case but I wish it had MOLLE webbing all over the inside so I can strap in my rifle a little better. I also wish they made a slightly smaller one than 36".

I have a Maxpedition Sliver II. Works great, keep the AR in the front pouch and the 870 in the larger pouch.

Does anyone know what brand of case was shown on the Magpul Dynamics DVD? The one with a soft care that fits inside a hard case.

No idea what they used, but Larue has this (http://stores.homestead.com/Laruetactical/Detail.bok?no=213)

Not hard to replicate you just need to know the external dimensions of the soft bag you want to use and match them up to a hard case, or vice versa.

I picked up a a midway bag and the mag pockets on the outside don't hold 30rd mags well, and one pocket has pulled away from the body of the bag. I think I paid around $35 for it at the time. I really wish I picked up an eagle or TT instead.

Rob S, I like that case - I might get one for my AR I'm desperately trying to piece together.

It's more about being the internet cool guy. You need a hard case to transport AR's via airlines as well, if I'm not mistaken. That'd be the main reason for me. If I'm going somewhere for a month, I'd like to have my AR with me. And at $188, that's not too bad.

I say "internet cool guy" because I don't think cutting the foam is necessary. Not to mention that once the configuration of the gun has changed (as it has in the case of both of the guns shown) the cutting becomes useless.

I also feel poser-ish because that case has only ever left the house once. Noever have a need for the hard case.

natdm

Well, you can always cut certain layers of the foam for certain rifles and certain configuratuon.. they're layered, right?

I'm just defending the fact that I'll hopefully have my foam-cut pelican cool guy case pretty soon.
