.300 blk 101 question

Does .300 blk use magnum pistol powders for subsonic bullets and rifle powders for super sonic?

What primers?

Was just pondering a Mini-14 in .300.

Magnum pistol powders like H110/Win 296, 4227, 300-MP work well will both. I've read about some folks using rifle powders like 4198 but never tried it.

I've only ever used small rifle primers (CCI or Federal).

H110/296 and Lil Gun works well too. I just use any spp I can find. Never had any slam fires with an floating fp AR platform. I would just make sure to get a seating die that straightens the bullet prior to insertion. I have had a lot of issues with the subsonic bullets not seating straight until I switched to a Redding type s die and have been gravy ever since. I can reload a nice round from .33 to 1 dollar for a killer sd round. Sure beats the 1-4 dollar range for factory.
