I recently got the Meopta 1-4 variable optic with the K reticle in. I had heard that the glass on these were supposed to be quite good and must say that they lived up to their expectations! The other great part about this optic is that the reticle is visible in full sunlight! This capability seems to be reserved for optics like the short dot and CSX.

I have not gotten a chance to shoot with this scope yet so more to follow. Here are some pics to get your started.

I think they will run in the lower $700 range.

Is it offered with any other reticle styles?

Yes, but this one is generally considered the best.

I got the chance to shoot my friends on one of his AR's style rifle and let me tell you the glass was the best that I ever seen. In bright sunlight you could use the illumination and there was absolutely no wash out to the reticule. On my eotech and aimpoint the reticule did have some of wash out. I would defiantly spend the money to purchase one of these sweet toys.

One of the best optics I have ever owned. All most wish I had reason to build another AR15 so to buy another one of these scopes. May be sell an Aimpoint and 3x Magnifier....

Yeah you did!

Wish I had the "know how" to may be get Meopta to do a special run for a group buy or such. Make a few changes to the basic design. Shorten it by an inch and alter the reticle a bit, but if that is not possible I would still go in a group buy and another.

Hint, hint.......Grant ;)

Grant:

I have heard that Meopta makes the glass for the Zeiss Conquest.
True?

I realize that my question is a little off topic, but I'm curious none the less.

I can neither confirm or deny such things. :D

Wow. Very interesting. How is the 1x?

Wow. Very interesting. How is the 1x?

The 1x is a true 1x. Although, even at 1x the scope has limited eye relief of 3.75", not like the Aimpoint or EOTech which is essentially unlimited. The beauty of this scope is that I have not found any lighting conditions in which the reticle has washed out. I have found many with my Aimpoint and EOTech. The max setting I have ever needed to use is number 4 (out of 7). This was in midday sun, however I generally keep it between 2 and 3. Another great feature of this scope is that the illumination is so powerful, it mimicks the BAC concept used in the TA31 and TA11 ACOGS. I can easily shoot this scope with both eyes open at 4x when illuminated.

Man I need to get another of these!

How is the durability? Will it stand up to use (or abuse)?

I'm also not overly fond of that reticle for a magnified optic. For a red dot, sure, but not for a scope.

I think they are VERY durable and the glass is better than the Trijicon TR series IMHO (which we talked about).

I have one demo model left that you can have at cost if interested in trying it out.

That's a tempting offer, but I'm still not crazy about the reticle.

If you still have this deal open since Neeglik is passing, I'll call you about it tomorrow.
