Seen some semi-auto ones available, what am I losing out on by picking up the semi-auto over the full auto?

the semi weighs less the the F/A, you can probably find more info here (http://m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=14729)

shrouded AR15 carrier 9.26oz
M16 carrier 9.46oz

difference = .2 oz

Sorry for not looking up this thread elsewhere. I meant the LMTs specifically, since everyone here says that LMT has the best stuff. If the M16 BCG is that much better, why does LMT even bother producing the semi BCGs?

Most LMT complete guns come with LMT semi auto carriers.

so I have an LMT upper on order, will I be okay putting my M16 BCG from Larue in it, or should I pick up a LMT semi-auto BCG instead?

I've read the other threads on the Larue BCGs, and now I'm confused. I'm also panicking because I got one already instead of waiting for a BCM to come available. I found LMT semi-auto BCGs available for 130.00, is that the model with the MPI and HPT bolt? Should I get one?

All LMTs bolts are GTG. If you can't get a full-auto carrier it isn't the end of the world, get it when you can. But if you can't that's fine too.

I'm talking about the regular 130 dollar ones, not the 300 dollar ones. Are those MPI and HPT?

And am I going to regret picking up this Larue BCG?

Yes. Both are. The $300 you don't need unless you have a 14.5" full-auto.

I'm gonna order a semi-auto LMT BCG right now for 129.00, should I do it?

am I going to regret the Larue BCG, or should I just stick it in my RRA and forget about it?

The RRA carriers are pretty good, their carrier keys vary in quality. When I've owned them I replaced the carrier key with one from BCM and I replaced their bolts with either LMT or BCM and used the RRA bolt as a spare. I no longer own any RRA carriers but never had any problems with the actual carriers.

no, I meant after all the stuff I've read on here about Larue BCGs, am I going to regret buying one?

If you are paying the same amount of money you would pay for a BCM or LMT, I would say yes.

oh well, shit happens, so should I put BCM's upgrade kit in it?

I put the BCM upgrade kit in my SBR's and I think that helps with the cylce of the short barrel, the extractor spring is heavier and I think putting it on any bolt wont hurt it.

I would highly recommend using LMT with LMT. Correct headspacing is the key and warranty if something were to go wrong. Use another brand BCG and it blows up, say bye bye to the warranty. I just bought my 10.5" CQB MRP from Harristacticalonline and debating on the enhanced gas key or standard.

Since LMT does NOT ship their uppers with BCG's, I would not worry about them not providing warranty support (if it was indeed their fault).

Stay away from the LMT enhanced Bolt's. I would also be cautious with their enhanced carriers and 10.5's (unless you are running a can).

Anything to worry about with the enhanced gas key? Your help is appreciated

I have zero idea what an "enhanced gas key" is. Got a link?

It's a Chrome Gas Key and goes through a longer "Dwell time". Enhances extraction? I am thinking aboutChrome for ease of cleaning.

I must be blind as I see NO gas keys in that link (only BC, BCG's and bolts).

Just as an FYI, most every quality manufacturers uses chrome lined gas keys (Noveske, BCM, Colt, LMT, Charles Daly, Stag, S&W, etc).

It's silver in color (chrome plated). Yes, all of the good Manuf. use chrome lined which is nice.

I may have called it wrong, sorry. Chrome Bolt! Some places call it a Gasy Key for some reason.

Ya, that is a bolt (not a gas key) and if you find anyone calling it that, I would ignore most anything that comes out of their mouth.

The part number is L7Q3B. I would avoid this like the plague.

Will you explain? I've got one in 6.8 on order and do not want to purchase if quality is inferior.

I do not have any experience with the 6.8 enhanced stuff so I would rather not comment on it.

In the past, we have seen the enhanced bolt and BC's cause a issues (especially with 14.5" and 10.5" guns).

I do like the enhanced Bolt Carrier (not group) though if you are using a suppressor.

I guess this is as good a place to bring this up as any other. So I'm at a local shop (my friend is the manager), and I was telling one of the employees about picking up a couple LMT M16 BCGs. He told me I shouldn't use them, because the ATF will consider a gun with any "machine gun" parts in it a machine gun, and I'll get in trouble. Anyone have a link to a thread that talks about this?
