My question, prior to the AC expressway opening in 1964, what route did people take, AC to Pa turnpike west?


EDIT: On another forum, a poster filled in my memory bank. Whitehorse Pike from AC to the Ben Franklin.

Most likely the turn pike. My grandfather worked on the construction of the road and the excavation of the tunnels at Kittatinny / Blue mountain.
