I used to love this show back when it first aired. I have started working on a re-watch with the wife who also watched it back then. Just finished season 1. Granted it does have some cheese at times and is a bit dated now especially as a gun guy by the firearms used. That's also what makes it great from a firearms standpoint. A view into the time before all agencies went to AR derivatives so lots of MP5 action( thinking of you SterAug), along with UZI's, MAC's and AK's by the bad guys. For some reason other than the occasional Beretta they use a lot of Ruger pistols in the first season. IMO good plots and storylines as well. Also many feel it could never be recreated due to the time( the late 90's) in which it was created. The Nikita/ Michael relationship/ chemistry and the other characters had depth as well.S1 has many plots dealing with terrorist groups with Eastern European ties. Main premise is Section one is an anti-terrorist group that no one know exists whose operatives are recruited from people serving life sentences in prisons throughout the world. Their deaths in prison are faked and their options are work for section one or die for real. Therein lies the battle for Nikita as she was innocent and convicted for a murder she didn't commit. Her moral struggle with what she's tasked to do is a main plotline of the show vs. the ruthlessness of Operations and Madeline( the Section One bosses).

I was stationed in the Netherlands while the series was running and one of the addicts/streetwalkers I would see around town was Peta Wilson's twin.

The things you remember...

My wife had gotten them for me a few years ago and I just haven't gotten around to a re-watch. Just an episode here and there.

I forgot to mention in my first post that it's streaming on Tubi right now. It's how I'm watching atm. Easier than digging the DVDs out.
