Looking for a 20in 5.56 rifle with the traditional fixed rifle stock. A3/A4 style, will be putting a LPVO on it. Plan on shooting out to 3-400 yds with it, just want something quality and accurate. I see the FN mil collector m16 for sale at like $1600, and then there is the windham for like $800, but the roll mark is ugly and its a windham.... I know colt use to have a rifle but can't find those anywhere. I see BCM has a bunch of 20in barreled uppers but I would still need a rifle lower.

Any recommendations for a quality/accurate 20in rifle? or should I just go for the FN m16?

Thanks

I don’t really consider RRA quality…

I think Colt AR-15A4's are still around. Windham Weaponry does make a quality rifle, although they're not a "TDP" weapon.

I have a NOS FN A4 upper, and it's fantastic. But if I had to do it again, I'd go BCM.

It depends on what you want though. If you're not putting together a clone gun then the Colt or BCM will do. The actual M16-A2 and A4 both have rifle feed ramps, and about 95% of the market uses M4 feed ramps. (Colt and BCM both use M4 style)

Honestly, the M4 feed ramps are a reliability enhancement if anything, but they would slow the cyclic rate in full auto. (Probably not an issue for you)

And Larue has a pretty humble looking A4 upper that I saw

I have a few BCMs, and there isn't anything that I wish they did different. I'm very happy with them.

Thank you, i thought about those, if i go that route i would just need a lower receiver and the a2 stock and rifle buffer.

If I was going to put a scope on a 20” I’d be looking for a lighter weight free float (BCM is) rather than A4.

An A4 upper with a BCM QRF12 would be cool.
